Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Less aggressive (I think a 4-5mm front spacer will make this match the Apex recommendation and I'm set?)

18x11" ET56 with a 5mm front spacer is a good route here if you plan to use this wheel set for purely street use.

I have 1999 c2 cab (street/canyon use only for the forseeable future, stock suspension for now) and I'd really like to install JDM wheels.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have 1999 c2 cab (street/canyon use only for the forseeable future, stock suspension for now) and I'd really like to install JDM wheels. I've spent many hours contacting suppliers in North America and Japan, and for the cost off off the shelf Advan GT's in Porsche sizing, I could order custom Work Meister S1 3piece or SSR Professor SP1 wheels. The following sizes are the closest custom sizes possible to a setup I found on the Apex wheels site (18x9" +46 / 18x11" +60 or stock): Work Meister S1 available sizes Aggressive (Is it even possible to make these fronts work?): 18x9 +43 18x11 +56 Less aggressive (I think a 4-5mm front spacer will make this match the Apex recommendation and I'm set?) 18x8.5 +49 18x11 +56 Conservative (seems like a no problem fit?): 18x7.5 +49 18x10 +56 SSR Professor SP1 size Less aggressive (no problem fit with front spacer?) 18x9 +49 18x10.5 +55 I have put all these into willtheyfit.com, and cross compared all these against stock/gt3/ and Apex recommendations. However, I'm still not sure what to make of the measurements (how much inner clearance do I need ? How much poke is the limit?). After hours of research I'm throwing in the towel and asking for a second opinion on my analysis of each fitment. My local indy's don't know anything about Japanese wheels, and the jdm shops don't know anything about my car. I don't want to drop 4k and wait 6 months for wheels that don't fit, just to find out I should've just asked first

POST 2Original post

The 18x8.5" ET49 and 18x11" ET56 with a 5mm front spacer is a good route here if you plan to use this wheel set for purely street use. Then the 235/40-18 and 295/30-18 will have a great sidewall shape on the 8.5" and 11" wheels, same as the 996.2 GT3. The 18x9"ET43 would be great for those wider 235/40-18 or a 245/35-18, should you want to go tracking in the future. On THIS CAR we actually had to add a 3mm spacer for inner clearance to the style of front strut this car had, making our 18x9"ET46 a 18x9"ET43. This car was lower than stock and had some camber dialed in for context. I wouldn't even consider the conservative option, that seems like a waste to me unless you refuse to run a tire size other than the factory 996.1 C2 225/265 sizes. - Brandon
