Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I am speaking to a guy (used car dealer) who has a '03 SY TT that he is selling for $55kish and said he would take my car on a trade and I'd have to give him "high teens" so I'm guessing $19K for a trade.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What is my car worth?
I am speaking to a guy (used car dealer) who has a '03 SY TT that he is selling for $55kish and said he would take my car on a trade and I'd have to give him "high teens" so I'm guessing $19K for a trade. I think this sounds like a great deal, but I wanted other opinions...my car:
2000 996 non aero w/the following option/upgrades:
19" wheels - new tires (less than 1K miles)
Fabspeed exhaust
Leather Recaro Racing seats
$5k Sony/JL Audio stereo
Suede headliner
built in radar detector
Lithtronics
H&R Coilovers
60K miles
no warranty...
So, what do you think I could get for it retail? He has not seen it yet either, so I'm wondering if he is offering me mucho $ to get me in and then start lowballing...
I have included pics of the TT...just because I'm drooling and I wanted to share.
Sorry, I stated that wrong. I give him my car + $19K and he gives me the TT. I guess he would be giving me around $31K for my car and then selling me the TT for $50k
Sounds like a good deal to me but you do have some nice goodies in your p-car. Is the dealer local to you? Have you seen this car?
There are some ridiculous scams going on for TTs.

You need to understand exactly what the cash value of your trade is seperately from the cash value of the TT. A lot of dealers like to only talk about the cash difference. I won't even try to do the math on this deal, but you should always negotiate on a cash basis with the option to trade or not trade open.
Sounds pretty fair to me but then again I don't know the specs on the turbo. What are the miles, does it have a warranty and what does the car fax say?
turbo has about 45K miles...no warranty. It is in very stock condition. It is about a 4 hour drive so it is a little tough to make this work. I may be being a little implusive...need to think it through.
996 TTs are great daily drivers. The 45K miles...no big deal. There is a guy (T2) who posts on the TT board with 185K on his in his. He has had no real issues just maintenance costs can get steep.
If he hasn't seen your car, does he know about all of the extras you have. If I were you I would be looking to return as much to stock as possible before showing to them, and sell of the parts to your rennlist brethren (plus a free gift for me for bringing it up
).
He actually does know about the updates...in total, he is giving me about $5K for them...he said my car would be worth around $26K stock for a trade but since I have the updates, and upon an inspection and test drive, he thinks it is in the ballpark of $31K. Again, he hasn't seen my car so this value could change. Unless he sells it (it will take me a week or so before I can clear my schedule enough to get over to his dealership)I will probably try to make something work out...
Im sorry man, but Im not buying this for a second. No dealer is going to pay $5k for your mods. A 2000 coupe isn't worth 26k on trade in either.
Something is very fishy.
This dealer is in chicago right?
Yes they are in chicago...do you think they are trying to get me in and then all of the sudden it's not going to be worth as much anymore? I was kind of wondering that myself...
