Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am looking at purchasing an 02 C4 Cab in Meridian Silver. I recently sold my 00 C2 Cab in Arctic Silver. I have not seen the Meridian Silver in person and was wondering how it compared to the Arctic Silver. I am a fan of the Arctic Silver and am hoping the Meridian is close. Also, would this color hurt the resale considering it is not "mainstream"? Thanks in advance.

POST 3Original post

I think Meridian Metallic is a light beige color. Some people call it Champagne color too.

POST 4Original post

As Viken says Meridian Metallic is a champagne color. No silver. I went looking for Meridian cars when I found my Arctic Silver. The ones I found were at a small premium asking price here in the Northwest. Recently, one of the posters on this forum said that Meridian cars were at discounted prices on the Eastern Coast. It's a good color that shows better when clean than Arctic Silver, while still being lower maintenance than the darker flavors. AS probably hides the dust better when dirty. Not many Meridians around whereas Arctic is the single most popular color in late model 996 and 986.

POST 5Original post

I love my Meridian Metallic. The color is now on the special order list, but that shouldn't effect resale. Its slightly darker than AS, has a touch of blue/purple in it....

POST 6Original post

Viken/lex - you guys are thinking Mirage Metallic. Meridian is silver (sorta). You can see the difference btwn AS and MM by looking at the lower pic, the rims v the body color...

POST 7Original post

No they are thinking Meridian. I considered it briefly. The colors actually change depending on the light. Sometimes it looks more beige, sometimes more blue/purple... I think it is nice but something of an acquired taste. I went AS (obviously)

POST 8Original post

I agree with Viken. Meridian is more a champagne than silver.

POST 9Original post

Mirage Metallic - from huntingridgemotors Meridian Metallic - from niello porsche

POST 10Original post

01: If you compare your initial pix to the niello pix, the colors are completely different. The color defintely changes depending on the light. I test drove one that seemed cooler when it was indoors and warmer (e.g. beige/brown/champagne) when it was in the sun.

POST 11Original post

meridian had a bit of a brownish / pinkish hue

POST 12Original post

And along the same theme, i just nabbed a GT Silver rear center console off ebay for an incredulous price. I hear GT silver is very like arctic. Can anyone give me any examples/comparisons?

POST 13Original post

01C4 Cab NYC, That looks like Mount Snow, VT or maybe possibly Stratton. I lived there 15 years ago. Great pic.

POST 14Original post

If anyone needs to see these colors up close and personal, we have all the plugs in those colors (factory exact finish). Mirage Metallic is a champagne beige color Meridian Silver is a light silver with a hint of pink undertone (warm) Arctic Silver is a light silver with a black base (cold) Polar Silver is a light silver with a blue undertone (colder) CGT Silver is a shade darker than Arctic, but just barely (warmer)

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for your quick responses and pictures. I think I'm going to take a pass on the Meridian and wait for what I want ('02 of '03 C2 Cab in Black, Arctic Silver, or Seal Gray). Thanks again!

POST 16Original post

Thanks for the explanation of the colours Eric. Do you think it is wise to mix arctic silver with GT silver interior bits. I mean do you think it would be noticeable?

POST 17Original post

SYMA, Yeah, that's Stratton...you've got a good eye! Eric - thanks for corroborating my 'Meridian-is-not-beige' story...seeing as how are pretty much the de facto paint authority....

POST 18Original post

I stand corrected. I drove some distance to look at some (supposedly) Meridian cars which were a champagne flavor. Per Eric and 01C4 these cars were actually Mirage Metallic apparently. I don't think I have seen an actual Meridian color if this is a darker shade than Arctic Silver but lighter than Seal Grey. Actually, if I could have found an exceptional car in Meridian or Mirage I would have bought it. Too few examples available. Good colors.

POST 19Original post

My local dealer has samples - largish curved pieces of metal or plastic that are painted - I was surprised to see that Meridian and GT Silver seemed extremely close. Maybe it was the light...

POST 20Original post

I just saw your picture for the first time and love it. I live about a mile from where it was taken. I'm pretty sure you took it at Appleton Farm. I get sick of seeing nothing but suv's and p'ups up here in the winter and enjoy seeing the occasional C-4 on the road!
