I ran a set of these on my last Pcar, and I have to tell you that I was pretty darned pleased with them.

I run Yoko AVS ES100s on my Boxster and I think they are the best bang for the buck when it comes to performance on a budget, good looks, and they are decent in the rain to boot.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 99 996 with 17" wheels. It's due to be sold or traded on a 997s in june. the rear michelin pilots are shot, and michelin has discontinued the tire now I need 4, and the yokohama avs sports are about 600 for a set. I run that tire on a mini cooper s. anyone have experience with this tire on a porsche ? perry

POST 2Original post

I ran a set of these on my last Pcar, and I have to tell you that I was pretty darned pleased with them. Dry and wet, they had gobs of grip, they were quiet (ymmv) and the rears lasted a staggering 23,000 miles (Hard driven miles at that).

POST 3Original post

I run Yoko AVS ES100s on my Boxster and I think they are the best bang for the buck when it comes to performance on a budget, good looks, and they are decent in the rain to boot. I would get them for my 911, but they are not made in a 295/30R18 (my rear wheels).

POST 4Original post

If your going to be in the rain much I would also look at the Yokohama Parada Spec-2, if they are available in your size.

POST 5Original post

I've got AVS Sports (295R, 225F) with no complaints. Tires have about 7k miles on them, fronts look new, inside rears over half worn out. I bought them because I'm a Porsche owner on a budget . If your not, go for the Michelin PS2's!

POST 6Original post

i have yok avs sport 18" on mine....best tire per dollar

POST 7Original post

Mine were very loud when worn......Avs sport..19's

POST 8Original post

I've been loyal to Yok's AVS's since the late 80's, before the "Sport" model was avail. The current AVS Sports are soon to be fazed out (they've been around for quite a few yrs now-and have never been updated). Their replacements will be called the ADVAN (vs. AVS) series. The currrent (low) prices reflect the inevitable change. Also, despite it being an excellent tire, tire technology has changed much over the past 7 or so yrs that the AVS has been in existence. So you can assume that newer tires (eg Bridgestone S-03's, Mich PS2)offer more current technology than the AVS. In your case, they'll be sold by June, so why not buy the AVS for cheap now. mike
