I think I may change my avatar to show a pic of my cell phone.

I'm busy this morning but I went into preferences and changed my options just so I could check out your new avatar and I got nothin.

you guys don't know me though many of you claim you do so i figured hey as being a person who likes change why the -- not?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yeah, I noticed the change this morning, too. I like it better.
It looks like he graduated from the "Too Cool For School" school and moved into the mainstream of society.... and I mean that in a positive way, which is why he'll probably change it back after he reads this.
Just funnin' with you, Ben. Seriously, I DO like it!
That's so funny! I'd have expected such comments from Riad but right now I'd vote for Phil as chief comedian on RL.
For the first time I really appreciate that we've little Ben on this board!
If I had to choose between the old avatar and the new one, yes, I do like this one better.
I think I may change my avatar to show a pic of my cell phone.
it's tough to gauge a person based on sporadic inputs typed into a text field on a fairly consistent basis... jumbled up thoughts about one mechanical object that is the 911 amongst a group of people from all sorts of different backgrounds, religions, culture... though i'd guess it's predominantly middle-age white dudes but i got love for everyone.
you guys don't know me though many of you claim you do so i figured hey as being a person who likes change why the -- not? show these guys a lil somethin' somethin' to grow the love-hate for Ben some more.
to let some of the interested few into ben's non-rennlist aka real world fold jus' a lil' bit, this photo was taken at a b-day occassion and the one to my right is my better half (at the moment).
you guys crack me up!
have a good sunday morning y'all
Ben,
Nice candy, but help me out, as I'm a little confused about seating arrangements. Assuming the tiara wearer commands one of the two front seats so she can poke it out the sunroof, who rides in the back seat? You or your better half?
Myra
Ben,
I like this avatar better than your previous one (wife-beater tee). At least there are some pretty girls to look at. One question, though:
Are you standing on something?
CP
Ben,
I like the change. Is your better-half on your right or our right as we are looking at the pic? Send us the stats on the other one! I like the change.
Andy T
Just remember - probably half of the people on this forum are balding accountants or dentists who drive a 911 to make up for the fact that they CAN'T have a picture like the one you have...without paying for the talent.
Don't hate...celebrate!
Ben, ya know these guys love ya... I always look forward for your posts... Im sure Im not alone on this and not to many will admit that... who is the princess on the left?
Too bad some of these guys don't get you, Benjamin. They might enjoy your posts more. And anybody that can keep a bunch of Porsche owners from taking themselves too seriously should be celebrated.
Keep flying that freak flag high. (That's an OLD old skool reference, bruh!)
Let me first say that I have faith in most of you guys.
I'm probably the one who takes the most **** from all others in this forum and will remain so however long I decide to post here--may be commensurate to the **** I dish out--though I try to keep it straight honest and try to avoid personal attacks unless provoked.
I wish I actually had the chance to meet some of you on a regular basis rather than do this whole virtual thing cuz I'll back up all the smack talk. I never claimed to be rich or famous or nice or badboy or baller or anything - all I've consistently given you guys is my honest opinion on matters discussed aka my candor. I think many of you who continue to hate me will actually find me quite tolerable and perhaps even interesting enough to have a drink with.
So keep the hate coming so long as there is a sliver of love that accompanies that boxer-6 style verbal jabbing.
I got nothing personal against y'all. It's all in the name of being entertained. When it no longer becomes fun to participate, it's time to drive off into the sunset PSE brapping.
I've made mistakes here. There are posts where i'm like dude that wasn't cool. But more often than not, even if my deliverery wasn't served with a My Little Pony on the side, it's because i'm in a way challenging the other guy to break it down real honest and show me some thick skin cuz dude.. i need to have thick skin to continue to hang out here. ****, people crack on me for my grammar... R U KIDDING ME? we are on an internet forum. casual. for pleasure. to relax.
anyways back to my not so proud moments..... like with Ray S and me talking about his wife in any sort of manner... not cool and I will forever be apologetic to him cuz I respect him now. totally a stupid, classless move on my part. next.
the instance with huskerbill... read the damn thread again and tell me how i fell far from the tree of truth. it was going from comparing a modern day ferrari to old ferraris that are known to break down and has shoddy build quality not worthy of the F-car name. he adds pictures of himself, his house, his ferraris, his was almost a ferrari club vp status... you guys seriously would go to battle with an insecure dude like this? but then i still gave him credit and threw out the olive branch... anyways read the thread thoroughly.
my criticism of wheel selection... 99.99% of the wheels in this forum don't fit the 911. there's always a compromise with spacers, narrow width, poor brand selection, etc etc etc. misinformed people so i'm going to try to bring some clarity by highlighting the errors. it's $$$ at stake here. people's hard earned $$$$ for silly stupid wheels that compromise along multiple fitment/quality fronts.
my love for the bling.... putting on 19s and lowering on pss9s and adding an aerokit to my car that's all color matched, no stickers, all OEM sound (PSE), blah blah... i back up my talk. i love the bling, but bling within limits. my car looks damn good and my cars will always look damn good and drive well. u call it cocky, i call it reality. i like my rolex. i like my chris aire diamond/gold chains. i like my bespoke suits. i like my women purty. at the same time, call me the mega hypocrite or whatever, I go to church and I love my family and friends and am extremely loyal. i love good conversation. material goods don't grab my attn. human feats make me slack jawed. like the single mom who worked all her life 3 jobs to put her kids thru school/college. that's amazing. a dude in his 20s with the whole rest of his single life ahead of him sacrificing all that to take care of his father who cannot live without care. extraordinarily honorable.
my "hate" for track nerds... look man, don't bring the laptime d!ck stick to someone who doesn't even begin to care to acknowledge skills powered by hobby. if what you do puts food the table for you, then let's talk. so splitting hairs over wheel weights, corner balancing, flashing the ecu for more gains on the n/a 3.6... give me a break. i'm the wrong guy to try to impress unless your last name is Hamilton, you're from the UK, and you're in your early 20s with a penchant for clubbing it up with the best Europe has to offer. and boy do i LOVE TRAVEL (have done it and would like to do a lot more) and realize there's a huge world out there full of beautiful diversity.
if any of you guys r in seattle and want me to help you sample some great coffee in town (not starbucks), hit me up, call it a hobby of mine, my drug of choice.
P.S. wtf is the point of this thread, again? LOL yea, that i'm an ultra paradox of a human being that you just can't figure out. i may not be completely sober. maybe i am. good job Eli.
Ben, I started this thread, so if an apology is needed... here it is... apologies. However, I did not start this thread to get a bunch of **** poured out over you or anybody else. Your avatar has always been a topic of discussion, so when you changed it, I noticed and posted about it. I have never given you serious crap and that was not my intention with this post either.
By the way... why did you change the avatar again (as it is gone now)... I liked looking at your girlfriend and whoever the other chick was!
He could have been referring to Eli Manning on throwing the winning TD in the Super Bowl. At least that is what came to my mind when I read his last sentence.
Ben, you never fail to deliver - I'm really impressed by your response. It's like you said, you're being genuine. It isn't always easy to digest, but I'd rather live with it than without it. Thanks.
Bob
What the hell Ben? I'm busy this morning but I went into preferences and changed my options just so I could check out your new avatar and I got nothin. All there was to look at was a dozen little pictures of a bunch of 996s that we've all seen before.
Jim
p.s. No picking on track nerds!
Yes, I just got back from watching Eli do his thing like millions of others. I was enterained watching the game.
Dutchie, no apology needed at all. I totally cracked up in disbelief when I saw your thread about the avatar.
Jim, I respect your skills cuz you really go all out. It'd be awesome to go around a track in your car driven by you.
I took the avatar off since I just poured my little heart out so you guys know me well enough now that you don't need to see photos of me.
Uhhh...I was more interested in the hot chicks.
With apologies to the Pats fans, I'm ecstatic Mr. Moynihan's perfect season went up in flames! That was a heck of a game!
Ben
I too logged on late and missed the eye candy
Personally, I enjoy your banter, keep it coming - makes me laugh and heck I actually learn something about my car from time to time.
Well done Eli indeed - but more importantly the cheating pats got what they deserved!
Go get'em Arlen!
P.S. Ben - put the picture of you dressed like Elvis and the chicks back up.
No problem. How about Thursday at Sebring? I only have one seat in the car right now so you'll have to sit on the cool suit cooler.
Maybe the timing will work so we can go for a ride in MN sometime. Or, maybe I'll make it to the NW one of these days. I lived in Portland for 10 years and would love to race there sometime.
Later,
Jim
