Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Found 2 C4S's here in Texas for less than $40k with 52k miles and 60k miles. Finally the price has leveled between it and the turbos. There is hope to get one of the most beautiful 911s ever made for cheap. Sorry for you guys who have one now, you will now feel the C2 pain........ http://autotrader.autos.msn.com/fyc/...00&cardist=229 http://autotrader.autos.msn.com/fyc/...00&cardist=261

POST 2Original post

Wow, great prices!! It's hard to quantify if this is "market correction" due to model, market correction due to the current economy, or BOTH. Regardless, I agree, it's a good time to buy one of the most beautiful 996's around. I may be a bit biased tho RE: the beautiful part.

POST 3Original post

Tippy, I just paid $47K with CPO for a pristine 2003 C4S with nav, heated seats, Bose (OK, OK) 18in wheels, some more... The best part is that the warranty will not kick in until it arrives here in Germany. Arron at Joe Rizza Porsche - Chi-Town was the manager I worked with. The car should be here on the 12th of Feb.

POST 4Original post

i'm not sure it's a market correction - perhaps you're making it sound a bit "monumental" when it's really not. For my '02 with 43K, i wouldn't let it go for less than $47K but then yea mine isn't exactly stock.

POST 5Original post

Ben's car is beautiful - but I'm not convinced that he has the best wheel selection.

"Market correction" = fancy way of pronouncing "depreciation". With that in mind, I can't believe the number of cars I can't wait to see on the used market in a few years--RS4, Exige S, Cayman, etc. I'll NEVER buy a new car again.

POST 7Original post

I wish the turbo prices would drop corrispondingly. The special 911s seem to to hold their value better

Also, the new C4S came out and gas prices. Sorry Arnee for the bad news, yours is a fine example, it is a RL star. Congrats, that is very cheap. The market was due for a correction when the C4S was pulling the same as a turbo. Exactly

No way. Back in my search which was about 10 months ago (?) the Turbo was always around $10K more which I decided to spend on mods and pick the C4S which I liked better in the looks dept. As for my wheel selection, it's the best there is. It fits perfectly and looks awesome and is a good weight for the size from a quality manufacturer. period. thank you. good nite.

heh thanks! I don't really mind my cars depreciating... since that's what cars do! I believe we're all lucky to own these fine automobiles and the [subjective] amount of depreciation is not commensurate to the [objective] amount of , , , and we get when we drive/use the car.

POST 11Original post

That's the mileage where people start to get nervous and want to unload their cars fearing they will be facing expensive repair and maintance. I think you will find lower milege (less than 30,000) cars (C4S) are still holding around $50K

Well, fair enough, they were too close in price for the difference in the car you get. The spread is getting to be more "correct". Except for Phil .....and that is when I come in and swoop up a perfectly good car for very little dough......
