Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I had an opportunity to get a good test drive in on the car.
Leading evidence: 'Test drive in' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test drive in' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Particularly with the forthcoming 997 waiting in the wings...what has anyone paid or gotten for an 02 cab, 6 spd, in this case has 23k miles and excellent condition? Got one for sale nearby for around $60k. Thanks
That sounds about right for a super-low-mile example per Bruce Anderson's most recent buyer's guide in
Excellence
- he lists a top value of about $68k IIRC. I may be able to get this sucker for under $60k, we'll see; however, I will feel pretty unhappy if folks are out there getting ones like this with average mileage for $50k, so please chime in, anyone, with any thoughts you might have...thanks Al
My C4 Cab had a sticker of $105K; I paid $65K for it in 12/03 with 27K miles, plus $1,500 for the extra 2 year Porsche certification. The price doesn't sound too bad, but what options does it have?
The one I'm looking at has Porsche certification included. Has 18" wheels (not sure if those were standard), and they are throwing in a new set of tires to be installed whenever I want them, leather seats, not sure on the headlamps, otherwise looks like a basic 6-spd 996 cab. Very nice condition - essentially no body flaws, runs great.
Is it a C2? If so, does it have PSM. This was standard on the C4; optional on the C2. Some options you can always add later. This is one that is worth it to have and cannot be added after market. If the car has it, there will be a button to the left of the radio to turn it on or off. The other option that is nice to have are the litronic headlights. I've been told that they can be added after, but not with the self-leveling component.
Lastly, don't rush into it if it's not the car for you, color, options, etc. I spent 4 months looking for mine.
FWIW, I just bought an '02 C2 Cab, PSM, 18" Sport Design wheels, Litronic, heated seats, CD changer, comfort leather, 6 spd and in perfect shape. The car has 10,000 miles and I paid $64K
I had an opportunity to get a good test drive in on the car. It runs great, feels great, looks great. HOWEVER - it's non-Litronic, non-PSM, and it's a C2. With possible accelerating depreciation in the near future when the 997 is out in force, I'm think $50-55k at this point as an offer to make including the Porsche certification/warranty and new tires. Any thoughts?
I bought my 2001 996 C4 Cab with 4,500 miles about 2 months ago. The list was 98k, I paid 66k and the car is "as new". I love the car and I think it was a fair price for the condition and mileage.
