Does 54,900 sound ok, provided everything comes out clean from PPI?

I would make sure no paint and he wheels are clean -no curb rash.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Folks,
This forum has been very helpful in getting my education..
Am looking at BLK/BLK 2001 cab with 10k miles. It's one owner, seems to be a well cared car. Car is in NC and I am in NJ. I din't see the car myself, carfax is clean. No RMS history, 5 months left on warrenty.
Lightly optioned car. Partial leather interior, 17" wheels, 3spoke leather steeing wheel, CD, technic pkg. 2nd gear shifter had issues 2yrs ago and porsche replaced 6spd transmission under warrenty.
Does 54,900 sound ok, provided everything comes out clean from PPI? Owner agreed to put 18" for another 1k.
Thanks in advance.
Reddy
Sounds dead on to me - maybe a few $K less because of the 17s and no PSM. 17s are standard but I would invest the $2K for a set of 18s and tires. I would make sure no paint and he wheels are clean -no curb rash. Get the owner to do a PPI at the local porsche dealer. I would strongly recommend PSM. If the car doesn't have it, I would pass - it cannot be added!
Sounds fair to me. I made an offer of $57 to a dealer for a Certified 01 C2 cab with 25k mi. Dealer didn't take it.
Wound up buying 99 C2 Cab, 25k, Certified for $47k. No PSM, and I can't get the rear end out. Sticks like glue. Pilot Sports may contribute to that though.
PSM is overrated IMO...These 996's come out of the factory loaded with understeer...A few of them could not get the rear out on a wet skid pad (3 instructors tried to no avail)...
Forget the PSM, get the car lowered and aligned properly and learn how to drive it! You will not need PSM then..
I drove the cars with and without PSM at the Porsche Driving experience down in atlanta...all I can say is PSM is the one option I will not live without. I'm sure this is more of a comment on my driving than the car's handling...but none the less.
Thanks a bunch folks. I will wait... In the mean time if anyone has a 01 cab blk or grey and willing to part, i have a good home.. my budget is ~50k..
Thanks again. Without a doubt, I will get one for next summer, life is too short
