I could also see elevated inflation making the above all the more compelling for an enthusiast dead set on entering the 911 market.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, what drove this recent 996TT sale to $20,000 over its original sticker price.? At $141,000 Its in the top 10 sold on BaT in the last 5 years. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...rbo-coupe-123/ Was it the 17k low miles,,? Or was it the color , carbon-fiber trim ? Boxster Red interior ? Or was it because of its status, being from a late owner’s (1 owner) estate ? Would it have gone for more without the "Evolution Motorsports Intake" ?

POST 2Original post

I think trying to make sense of some of the BaT sales is pretty useless but can be a fun thought exercise. If I had to guess, this was an uncommon combination of exterior and interior colors, low miles and single owner. P cars tend to change hands A LOT. The fact that this is relatively unmodified, clean and coming from a single owner with low miles seemed like a perfect combination of features that had a lot of value to someone and they were willing to pay for it. As I always say, none of this needs to make sense to anyone else but the person that is writing the proverbial check. There will always be outliers like this and I'd tend to not include them in coming up with any values for these cars.

POST 3Original post

It was bought by a dealer (zweck) and is already on the dealer's site for 179k.

How about this 964 Singer, half hour left at 1,075,000 on BAT. 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupe by Singer for sale on BaT Auctions - ending May 14 (Lot #242,267) | Bring a Trailer

No idea, but i love to see it. 996 prices across the board seem to be rising again. The market is figuring out what we already know. The 996 is a classic whose time has come.

POST 9Original post

Quotes source post: 20578745

Yes The ethos of the 996 is the opposite of the modern cars sold today. Quick, pretty and cool sure, but also right sized, engaging and charming. Unlike other desirable enthusiast cars that check these boxes, 996 are affordable. It's reasonable to expect the market is in the process of correcting this mis-pricing. The good cars will continue to command all the money- ultra low mileage w/ provenance or driver mileage with excellent receipts. I could also see elevated inflation making the above all the more compelling for an enthusiast dead set on entering the 911 market. If they become cool cool the way every other 911 has, fomo will catapult values further.

Don't forget the bmdaia factor! Seriously though...like him or not...Ben has been cheerleading 996's for years now.

wow. i guess it makes sense if looking at it from a perspective of a collector

POST 12Original post

I can't say I like the Polar Silver over Boxster Red combo. Polar Silver has a blue undertone, which looks weird next to the interior color.
