Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have OE 17" rims. I like the fuller, more agressive look of the 18s. Would I have to buy new rims and tires or could I get away with spacers? I read somewhere that 17mm wheel spacers front and rear might do the trick. Any advice?

POST 2Original post

I still have my 17"s on with the 5mm Porsche spacer kit, it helps. I think 7mm would be about perfect. 17mm spacers sound freakish with the 17"s, especially since they are pretty ugly wheels. Or, you could just get the 18s. I will get around to that after I burn up these tires.

POST 3Original post

Why not just go with 18s? Regardless of the spacers, 17s will not fill out the whole wheel well. It's ok to use spacers to make up for offset, etc. It is not a good idea to use them to increase overall width, which is what you're essentially planning on doing...

POST 4Original post

How about spacers on the 18s? How does that look?

POST 5Original post

I have 6mm spacers on all 4 18" rims, using 38mm bolts. It fills out well, but I haven't had the car lowered yet so the effect isn't perfect.
