Luckily I had prior experience doing it to my Yamaha R1 (installed white guages on that one).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi y'all,
Wanted to quickly introduce myself.
Picked up my first Porsche about 6 months ago : a 2000 C2 convertible.
The car is used as a daily commuter (office is only 4 miles away) and has been a great experience so far.
In the past months I have installed following upgrades (did all of it myself) :
- wood interior components
- aluminum gauges + bezels
- 1500 W amp + subwoofer
- iPod integration
- Carrera wing
- clear sidemarkers
Next is performance (it's going to need a whole lot of that since my previous car was a Viper - not a daily commuter though).
Any recommendations ?
Yves
Welcome to the best Porsche website, Nice car I like the wood in the Int.I suggest you Pound it!
Never the less its a Porsche so it will always be a head turner
Nice cab! Welcome to the best Porsche Forum on the net! I agree with the side skirts recommendation. Also, I'm glad to see you got the "toupee" refitted on the car. Sorry, couldn't resist! The first pic looks as if someone's toupee had been blown off in the wind.
Replies to some of the questions :
- Good catch on the flag ! I am Flemish. Currently on my 6th international assignment. Hope this one lasts a bit longer than the standard 2 years. I really love Atlanta !
- The guages project is a tricky one. You just need to stay calm. Luckily I had prior experience doing it to my Yamaha R1 (installed white guages on that one). There was just more of them in case of the car.
- Comparison to the Viper. The Porsche is just a better daily driver. It is also a smaller and thus more nimble car. Very tight. On the flipside, it doesn't cause the same adrenaline rush. The Porsche is way down on power and especially torque. Keeps me out of trouble though.
Attached a picture of the Viper (and wife) on the Grossglockner, the highest mountain in Austria. This was taken during a cruise in the Alps, accompanied by other 27 Vipers (about 50% of the Vipers in Europe). I hit 280km/hr that day. Bunch of crazy Germans and Swiss
Hey Yves,
wasn't that hard to pick out the flag, am from Belgium (Leopoldsburg) myself and been living in Canada for the last 7 years.
Good luck with the car.
You pretty much did everything right the first time:
found the best forum online, a great group of people and posted pictures right from the start.
Beste groeten.
Aha, dus ten minste drie Vlamingen aan deze kant van de vijver
Transl. for the others: So, at least three Flemings on this side of the pond
I guess the secret is out: Flemish guys always have beautiful wifes (we tempt them with our chocolats and seduce them with our beer).
Yves, nice cab. You aren't in the carpet business are you? Quite a few Belgians in the Dalton area for Beaulieu-owned companies.
Groetjes,
Geert
