Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After my '04 C4S was delivered, I noted a "v" shaped tear in the carpet adjacent to the console on the passenger side. The carpet appears to be one continuous piece, not sections that can be easily replaced. The tears are around 3/4" on either side, big enough for me to put my finger through. Will the entire interior carpet need to be replaced or do you think a good shop can patch it so it's undetectable? Looks like the previous owner had some electrical device hooked in. The tear is just too symmetric for an accidental tear. The dealer I bought the car from, Isringhausen has offered to make it right. Anyone had a torn carpet that required replacement or repair? Thanks for the input! Phil G.

POST 2Original post

The carpet can easily be repaired. Each Dealer uses specialists for upholstery repairs. Call your Dealer and ask them for the guy they use. Also, try to schedule the appointment yourself and not thorugh the Dealer to avoid a Dealer surcharge.
