Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used Edmunds private party value as a target, but I did not buy from a Porsche dealer, although I did buy from a car dealer.

Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I found a listing for a 2004 C2 with 5K mi. The asking price is $63K. Can you guys tell me if this is a good deal? I havent seen the car yet, but I plan to, its supposed to be in excellent condition.
Also, how do you guys determine what price is a good one for a Porsche? I go by KBB values, but you guys seem to think they are too high? help me understand how much I should offer when I find a car I like please!
Depending upon how the car is optioned, the price may be too high. There's an '05 997 with 3K miles at a Porsche Dealer near me that has a asking price of $64K. A good business practice from the perspective of the seller is to ask a premium price and then to gradually lower the price if there are no takers.
Some Dealers try to fight the market. There's another Dealer near me that has two '04 PDE cars, heavily opptioned, with asking prices in the low $70s. Both of these cars have been on the Dealer's lot for a year and a half, and the Dealer hasn't dropped the price.
So if the car is in perfect condition and heavily optioned, $63K is not a bad asking price for a 996 with only 3K miles. Ask for the original sticker, so that you can see the option list. I imagine that you should be able to buy the car for at least $4K less.

Oh, and get a PPI. It cost me $200 from a Porsche dealer and was nice peace of mind.
It's so hard to tell what is a good deal and what isn't without knowing more about the car.
Porsche's have some the the largest option sheets I've ever seen, and a base C2 could easily have cost more than my 2004 C4S Cab if it was blown out.
Now, keep in mind that most of these options don't increase the car significantly if you are buying used, so finding one that has all the options you want is a good thing.
So if you have more information:
Year, Make, Mileage and Location
Ext. color
Int. color
And the
option list
or sticker it will be much easier to give a fair value for the car.
