Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Leading evidence: 'Replace with a raby quote' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace with a raby quote' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I think I know the obvious answer - to dampen the engagement of the clutch, but...
What I don't understand is why this can't be accomplished with a spring centred friction disc like every other clutch? Seems unneccesarily complicatd to me (just like spelling unneccesarily is too complicated).
The other reasons for dual mass (that's 2 s's) is ease of use and sound...Porsche is obviously trying to hit a market where
most
Porsche drivers are not track hounds so the dual mass is easier to engage (less stalling) theoretically. LWFWs do have chatter.
You see what I mean. Phonetically it doesn't figure
Un-nes-suh-ser-ily. The "nes" and the "suh" both need an s sound, so I figured two c's (it shoud be two s's but there you go. The "ser" part only needs one s sound, so I put one s. It's much more complicated than it needs to be...wait what was my original post about?
It's to make owners tolerate those rattly ZF boxes. People spending that much money usually want (or Porsche perceives they want) quiet cars and the straight cut gears are horribly noisy in low speed, low load (driveway or parking lot) driving. (spelling unchecked)
From PPBB, circa 2009:
"The dual mass arrangement is designed to absorb the harmonics from the engine and the transaxle. Removing the second mass removes any and all harmonic dampening, meaning the crankshaft is left to absorb those harmonics.
This can lead to a broken crankshaft and I have yet to see one of these lightweight flywheels be close enough to balanced when coupled to an assembly to illuminate the "balanced to tolerance" prompt on my CN balance machine."

Ok I found the problem! It's not un-nes-suh-ser-ily it is un-nes-ses-ser-ily. You Canadians sure know how to butcher the Kings' English!
