Suggestion

I don't think a huge GT2 style will fit if you are wanting to continue using your convertible top.

Suggestion

If you can wait and keep an eye out, I have seen used OEM spoilers of the same style for similar prices of replicas.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

26 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Curious what you guys think would look best. Car is black if that matters, any pics of your own or links would be great.

POST 2Original post

I have been looking for the "right" one for my 99 Coupe too. I really like the look of the old Whale Tail. Even with the black rubber around the perimeter. Wish I could find something similar for my car. Mike

POST 3Original post

Although my car doesn't have a wing, I like the look of the GT2 wing

POST 6Original post

WHAT - OK, I have taken 5 years of pokes from suggesting a GT2 wing on a NB coupe,...and ya'all want one one a cab? I tried for over a year to sell a real oem GT2 wing and finally sold it for $100 to a 928 guy?? guess I should have held out and had you guys fight over it! I suggest the stock wing on a cab

POST 7Original post

The cabrio has fewer choices for wings than the coupe. I don't think a huge GT2 style will fit if you are wanting to continue using your convertible top.

POST 9Original post

The OEM wing works well on my cab, even w/ the hardtop installed for winter duty.

POST 10Original post

My $.02 would be the OEM aero spoiler meant for the cab. You can find used or replicas too. http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...ory_Code=996G2

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 10277912

Thats pretty much the only one that looks good on a cab, IMHO.

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 10277912

When the car was still work $80k that might work but WOW, $6k on a car worth maybe 3-4 times that value? And that doesn't count installation and paint!

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 10277735

I didn't see your wing posted here on Rennlist If I had seen it, I would have bought it. I refuse to pay the money they are wanting for a used or aftermarket wing

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 10277912

I like the OEM idea, paying 5k would be insane but this seems comparable http://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-2004-Po...efcb72&vxp=mtr

POST 17Original post

I think I paid $750 from a fellow Rennlister and another $200 to paint it IIRC?

POST 18Original post

If you can wait and keep an eye out, I have seen used OEM spoilers of the same style for similar prices of replicas. Don't forget to budget for the spoiler harness(~$100).

POST 19Original post

Check out this ad....Thats a very reasonable price for that wing (no affiliation with seller) http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv...661830747.html He doesnt seem to know much about the car calling a GT2 type wing but hey we need people like that to give away parts for cheap

POST 20Original post

That wing might not work for a cab but just thought somebody else might want it

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 10282196

It won't work on a cab but that is A STEAL for the mk1 Aero Wing for MK1 Coupe owners if it is genuine OEM. Even used, they have commonly sold for $1500-$2k.

POST 22Original post

Even if its not OEM....its still an awsome deal

POST 23Original post

I think the best ones are the sports classic ducktail (for 996) that getty/mashaw make, or if you want the whale tail the techart whale tail. Which is expensive. here is a pic of the later, on a 99 cab with 18" wheels. but you would need the front bumper and sideskirts to make it perfect. Cabs are pretty "tame" looking and this kit below makes them agreesive. On 18" wheels, too.

POST 24Original post

I have an ERS wing. I don't know who made it. Looks like a MAShaw but cannot confirm. Designed for the convertible I think. Needs to be painted. It's for sale: $500 plus shipping.

POST 25Original post

I like my wing from GT3TEK... Side shot from when it was still vinyl wrapped... David
