Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No white smoke anymore. The delayed start went away for a couple says, now it's back and the delay is longer. I have to hold the key in the "start" position for 5-6 seconds now before the engine decides to fire up. The firing up part is fast and not delayed.. It's normal and it's not struggling. Ima try my spare tomorrow and see if it makes a diff with that little RF thingamajig inside it.. Maybe I've dropped the key one too many times?

POST 2Original post

Is this a 996 Porsche? Do you know what year it is? Have you changed your ign switch? It the key hard to pull out? Has anything else started to act up, like climate control fan or ... Is this a cab? Is the floor wet under the passengers seat? Is the battery good? Did you take the terminals off and clean them, especially the ground. Did you check and clean the ground between the engine and chassis? (near cyl #6) Have you checked the wire between the alt and + junction in the engine bay?
