I assume use a tiny flat flat head to pop off the hazard switch to expose the screw and then pop off that little speaker looking cover.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got my replacement cluster in today for an 01 911. Is this an easy swap plug and play or should I let a pro do it? Looking at it, it seems its just two screws holding it in and then 2 plugin jacks. I've learned however that even though something looks like a 5 minute job, it often isn't. I assume use a tiny flat flat head to pop off the hazard switch to expose the screw and then pop off that little speaker looking cover. Does anyone have any tips? Is this something I shouldn't attempt?

POST 2Original post

Cant help but would also like to know...seems the bigger thing is dealing with the dadh pad? Once you get into it could you please snap a couple shots and post how it went for ya

POST 5Original post

I've pulled off my instrument cluster a few times. It is very easy. Be careful pulling out the hazard switch. It is best to use two small screw drivers. You may also want to put a towl on the dash so you don't scratch the dash. The plugs come out very easily as long as you rotate them and don't pull on them. Is this a straight swap? What are you don't about mileage and other specificcs for your car? There are places that will reprogram the replacement cluster but I believe they need both clusters to do this.
