Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

CofA goes by the date delivered from the factory (date on paperwork) but the door tag is installed while still on the assembly line so it will be different.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can you tell the month and year the car rolled off the assembly line by the VIN number?

POST 2Original post

No. Not as far as I know unless Porsche publishes production numbers mapped to dates. There should be a metal tag on a door jam (driver's side probably) that will have the month/year of the car's manufacturer. Sincerely, Macster.

POST 3Original post

yup, thats where mine is, 05/03

POST 4Original post

Correct, and if you want the exact date, only a Cert. of Auth. from PCNA will tell you that, for about $100.

POST 5Original post

I will tell you that the Certificate of Authenticity date for my car does not match the plate on the door. Plate says 11/98, and the COA says 01/99. But the chassis (VIN) numbers, and engine numbers all match up to the COA.

POST 6Original post

I assume they stamp that plate as soon as the frame is done, then slap it on early in the production. By the time it's finished and rolls into a dealer showroom, it's much later?
