Steve, it will be ready for the track as soon as I replace the clutch.
Run flowmasters and hi flow cats...it was seriously loud

My previous track toy was a Saleen Mustang with a big cam and stroker motor, running flowmasters and hi flow cats...it was seriously loud.

I'm up by Sacramento...that would be a serious run for me.

Medtech, the Palomar run sounds like fun, but isn't that in the LA area?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just spotted these over on ebay. They belong to a 6speed member. I threw a low bid at them and won...$400. I can't wait to get these and my new LWFW installed. I think that I will have done about every N/A mod to my car. Next up will have to be a stroker motor or a S/C, or better yet both.
Here is the description..."I have a set of Custom High Flow Cat Pipes that were made by Fast Intentions
www.fastintentions.com
. They used Magnaflow 400 cell Metallic cats and did amazing mandrel welding with T-304 stainless steel. These are slightly used and I ran them for less than 1000 miles and took them off since I am selling my car. Great performance and sound. No Check Engine Light. Call me or email me if you are interested. I am happy to email pictures of stock vs. this set. "
i had a set of dansk 200 cell cats on my previous c2 996 and they were LOUD. they were also combined with a set of bb mufflers. the 400 cell cats might not be as loud, but you'll definately hear your engine now..
Awesome! Let us know how those work out. I had Fabspeed 200 cells on and had to take them off as they were WAY too loud for my taste - however, I did enjoy the extra umph it provided...maybe 400 cell cats would be a bit quieter? Looking forward to your feedback!
That's interesting...
I have 200cell Cargraphic Cats and PSE-style Bypass mufflers and the car sounds perfect!
I thought it was loud when I had the headers, however.
Yes sir, I purchased the Dansk and had them on the car for 24 hrs. and quickly took them out. What a waste of money. They were too loud and uncharacteristic of the 911. Furthermore, the car was so loud that the police are likely to follow the sound signature and thus cause an extra headache.
Thanks for the support guys...I knew you would understand.
I will be happy to post my thoughts after I get them installed. I'm too technologically impaired to post a sound clip. I hope they aren't too loud. My previous track toy was a Saleen Mustang with a big cam and stroker motor, running flowmasters and hi flow cats...it was seriously loud. The Porsche is a little on the quiet side now; hopefully, the 400 cell cats are just right.
Tim you are right about the aero kit...I really need to get it installed. Will it make the car go faster???
Steve, it sounds like you understand my problem. I'm trying to stay away from ebay (there is a S/C for sale there), but the owner of the cats posted the link on 6speed.
Mark, of course it will make the car go faster!
If clear side markers add 10 - 12 HP, then an Aero kit HAS to add 35 - 40 HP. Besides, even if it dosen't go faster, it will LOOK faster...... even when its standing still.
Tim, that would make me as fast as a real GT3...I'm all over that.
Medtech, the Palomar run sounds like fun, but isn't that in the LA area? I'm up by Sacramento...that would be a serious run for me. I escaped from LA a few years back, but I still enjoy visiting. It will always be home for me.
Steve, it will be ready for the track as soon as I replace the clutch. I had a roll bar installed in anticipation of track season. I am recovering from spine surgery number 6, hopefull I'll be trackworthy about the same time as my car.
Tim, thanks for the kind words. All the surgeries are from the same injury and in the same area. I'm fused at three levels (S-1 to L3). It's too bad I'm not as easy to repair and upgrade as the Porsche is.
Wow, surgery #6 that is too bad. What kind of rehab is ahead of you Mark? Do you know specifically what the 'cause' of your back problems is? Hope this one works for you to eliminate your back issues.
Steve and medtech, thanks for the words of encouragement on the back issues. I'm looking forward to lots of quality time in the gym and a few months of physical therapy. The cause, was a series of "on duty" injuries...from carrying a 100 lb K-9, to bailing out of a moving vehicle, to jumping over a stream while chasing robbery suspects (with my dog) and having about 25 extra pounds of equipment around my waist.
Medtech, cool avitar. My first K-9 was a shepherd. I learned my lesson and the current one is a Malinois. He is 10 times the police dog the shepherd was.
He's a handsome boy! I see some enamel loss from all the bite work.
Looks like he's gettin up there in age too. Mine is 10.
A Shepherd follows commands well, A Malinois anticipates them for you.
