This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I'm looking to upgrade my stereo and I've searched the archives extensively for research.
I want to increase the fidelity, bass and overall sound in the cabin (beyond what the GHL exhaust already does for me) - Also want to have a direct ipod interface.
Any thoughts on the system below? In particular I am interested in thoughts on the Amps and Speakers, since I won't be able to hear this setup before commiting to buy it.
This was put together by Jamie (formerly of Paris Audio) in LA. Of course it is more then I'd like to spend, and for this price someone recommended that I should talk to Rick Reus at Reus Audio.

I think some of the folks on the board had good experiences with him
The guy who you really should call, just to compare, is Rod Birch at
www.caraudioinnovations.com
Many of us on the board have used him, and he is a first class, top-notch guy. He really knows the 911's as well. Many of us have put in Focal speakers and Audison amps that he custom designed for the 996. They are great.
Like in medicine, a second opinion never hurts :-)
I don't know where you live in respect to Reus, but I heard he is the best. I live in NJ and will be getting one of his systems next month. I also did a lot of research and decided to go with him. Call him and discuss it. He is a nice guy and does know his stuff. They have done soooo many 996s that they have it down to a science. The full blown install in 6 hours or so. In comparision, my local shop needs 33 hours for a system not as complicated. There are a lot of guys in Ca with his stuff. If you go on

you can see my post and what others think. Also do a search with his name on that site and you see other discussions. I'll bet there is someone near you that can give you a listen.
speaking of stereos
what other speakers will fit the front and rear (i have the HiFi option w/door speakers) with out modifying anything? I was looking for an upgrade but not in the Focal, DLS price range. Currently i am running the stock AMP as well which i would probably keep for the time being
thanks
In this respect I would refer you to Reus to find out the sizes, cause I am not familiar with the sizes on the hifi option. Do a search on this site or 6 speed site. Sorry.
I did a lot of comparision and he is only a little more than my local guys but with Rick you are garranteed a great system not guess work and this " should sound good". He has done thousands of 996s. He has it down to a science and KNOWS the end result.
Riozilla do some research on the head unit they've selected. Kenwood recently came out with their version of the IPOD adapter- I hear its better than the Alpine one. I spent about 4k on my system- it kicks ***, except for the bass- it's hard to get good bass in any Porsche unless you rip out the rear seat.....Good Luck
I have one of Jamey's systems in my car, its nothing short of amazing. It is one of the finest car installs I have laid eyes on. I have seen and heard Ricks, they are good. But, having had three of Jamey's systems in my cars...I would trust my car to no one else. Jamey knows his stuff (as does Rick)...he's been doing this stuff a long time and has the Pcar knowledge to back it up. I can't recommend him more highly enough. Oh, and it's not difficult to get bass in a Porsche...I have two killer 8"s in mine...and I still have my back seats.
