Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
I had a magazine and it was the 930 for me, ever since that day it was a must have before I die (like Marlin fishing off the Florida keys).
Leading evidence: '930' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). I just had my Fabspeed installed last night after having the Short Shift Kit put in 4 weeks ago.

Sporting a dimensional replica of Der Nurburgring at 20 deg banking, camber changes (including negative) incorporated with with decreasing radius corners positioned on vertical drops, the Shenandoah Circuit is the odds-on favorite to be the most technical track in the country"

There was a guy in my run group with a brand new Pontiac GTO 5?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just had my Fabspeed installed last night after having the Short Shift Kit put in 4 weeks ago. I noticed on my drive home that I was driving slightly more agressively in that I was keeping the revs higher (better sound) and shifting way more confidently. Does it make sens ? I'm woundering if I'm having too much fun....it sort of remind me when I was driving a sopabox and making race car sounds with my mouth. I wounder if the average Porsche drivers ever grows up ?
Yes, I drive differently with my mods. Which two primarily? First, PSE. It sounds so good that I drive in order to hear my car. I also use it instead of the horn. A well placed rev of the engine can warn other cars or pedestrians that they need to pay more attention.
Second, sadly enough, the spoiler. Knowing that the spoiler deploys at 75 sometimes "encourages" me to exceed that amount just to pop it up. Sad, I know. I am supposed to get my car back tomorrow with the fixed Carerra spoiler, so hopefully that bad habit will go away.
I love my SSK, but it doesn't really affect how I drive.
lol..good thread.
gt3 seats and 5 points: make me wanna take every on ramp and off ramp at 120.
short shift kit makes: makes me wanna heel-toe every shift.
bypass pipes: ensure i don't do any of that on the streets because every cop in a 40km radius will hear me comming.
my driving has stayed pretty much the same. untill i see an interesting patch of road, then all hell brakes loose.
I believe psychologically it brings out the boys in us. Remember when you were 11 and you saw your first Porsche? I had a magazine and it was the 930 for me, ever since that day it was a must have before I die (like Marlin fishing off the Florida keys).
When I accepted ownership on my 996, I felt like my cohones hung a few extra inches but now with the modsit is a totally different driving experience. By-pass pipes, SSK, intakemakes me feel like that 11 year old kid staring at that poster all over again.
TD, I am there both days. I was looking at the track and all I can say is wow! This is night and day to Pocono South! I am still pretty much a virgin to the track thing, but it looks like this weekend could push me over the edge...
"At variable lengths ranging between 1.68 and 2.2 miles, the Shenandoah Circuit is a no-holds-bared technical challence that will take years to master. Sporting a dimensional replica of Der Nurburgring at 20 deg banking, camber changes (including negative) incorporated with with decreasing radius corners positioned on vertical drops, the Shenandoah Circuit is the odds-on favorite to be the most technical track in the country"
These are some pretty loft claims...
According to PDA, its essentially a brand new track, so I think they are expecting a little more excitment than usual. It looks like we could see a little rain as well, just adding to the excitement.
See you there,
Chris
Chris, I hear you on the PDA events. There was a guy in my run group with a brand new Pontiac GTO 5? Anyway, the stock engine size and the brakes are not matched very well. This as he came down the back at +100, hit the brakes to make the turn and nothing.... kept on going straight. I thank my lucky stars I wasn't in front of him. I will be looking for that sort of thing going forward.
Arrwin: Based on Yahoo maps, about 4.5 hours.
Yes, it sure does....under passes and tunnels are much more fun now with the bypass pipes. The handling of the car makes me take turns at much higher speed, too.
I couldn't agree more about the gt3 seats, they almost make me think the car handles better than before. slightly OT but what rpm do most of you guys drive in when you're out and about?
When I was young I use to have a huge poster of a silver turbo that has a huge whaletail. My 996 is silver, coincidence...NOT !
As far as a Marlin off the Keys...agreed as long as it's on a fly.
hmm..i guess for daily driving and just going from point A to point B, i'll get some speed in first..usually upto 3k rpm (4k maybe once in a while)..then keep shifting gears till 5th to save gas as long as the rpms don't drop below 1700..otherwise the engine sorta lugs.
for performance driving its usually upto 5500 unless there's a worthy opponant then all bets r off and its redline for the first 3 gears then a heel toe and hard on the brakes for the corner and a friendly
as he disapears.
I do know.... I've been dragged into court three times within the last 5 years where I was asked for more $$$ in child support! WTF.... Seems like each time I get a new car we're back again.... LOVE MY KID and so I pay but boy
....
You should have made it down with us this last week, we went on a run where everyone was 90-110 to SD.... I did a couple of passes at 120-ish + but nothing compared to a couple of CGTs that made it out there.....
-Eli
I can't even imagine what that is like Eli....I guess all I can do is apologize for my gender...I hope it's not done in spite...that's just wrong when children are involved.
I so wished I could have. SD is a LONNNNNG ways away. I am really jonesing for a little road trip. Summer seems like it is finally here!! I was having my doubts. So one of these weekends I will have to make it down for a drive. I have been so busy with some remodeling in my home, there hasn't been much time for anything else. I'd like to get out on the water soon (wakeboard!!) too!! 120mph?? That's all???
Don't worry about it.... I don't think it's a gender thing, is what I mean.... I'm sure you're the sweet heart we all think you are but on the other hand I have to deal with YOU KNOW WHO.....
I was just talking with a couple of my buds... about the HO2 sports.... I need to get on the blades again before I loose my water-legs....
Let me know when you're coming down..... Don't worry I know all about that home stuff..... This is part of the reason why I wasn't able to join in on my own group-buy on the SC kits.....
Take care,
-Eli
Well back to the original thread...I also seem to have become slightly more aggressive since my EP S2 Q exhaust, PSS9 suspension, GIAC, GT3 seats...I just love it!! Fast, smooth with an intoxicating sound. I love the seats as well!!!
^ agreed on PSS9's.
i got an agressive alignment done and pss9's installed (preference to oversteer) and i just love it. i have delusions of gradure in which i think i'm walter rohl or tommie makkenin.
Because in about, say, three hours, I pick my car up from the body shop where the fixed Carerra wing was installed
Now, I won't have that temptation any more . . .
Me too. I love the PSS9s and GT3 adjustable swaybars. I did have to back off from -2.5 camber to -2.0 camber when I went through a set of tires in 2,000 miles
