This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After becoming a contortionist whilst changing the ignition switch and nearly killing the cat with the shear frustration of it all, it happened again ie when I turn the ignition key to the left and pull it out, the engine doesn't shut off. However when I switch off the lights ,the engine cuts out!! Please don't tell me I've got to get under there again! What is the connection-mechanical/electrical or otherwise between the ignition key lock /switch area and the light switch? (ie Headlights etc) TIA Jason

POST 2Original post

Had mine replaced under waranty 2 hours ago! Ciao, Johannes E.

POST 3Original post

The light switch is tied to the ignition switch so that the gong will sound if you leave your lights on after removing the key.
