For street use, what is the recommendation for a clean (dustless) pad with good stopping power?

The Carbotech line looks interesting, however that XP8 says they're for lightweight cars and aren't recommended for street because of dust (which doesn't matter) and noise (which really does).

I've been running the OEM Porsche sport pads that I have been very pleased with.

you could have run a set of factory pads while you were waiting to discover how good these were for your next DE

I'm not a brade pad guru, so I've turned to the web and a trusted local supplier for guidance on which pads to run with, and had seen that the Pagid orange is a great pad for the track, while being bearable on the street.

Many have said they run the yellows, but that's a more aggressive pad and I knew that just couldn't be quiet after looking at the data sheet comparing the Pagid range.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys,
I've been doing little bits here and there on a guy's '02 C4S, that he daily drives, and plans to do an occassional DE with.
I'm not a brade pad guru, so I've turned to the web and a trusted local supplier for guidance on which pads to run with, and had seen that the Pagid orange is a great pad for the track, while being bearable on the street. Some had said that they get noisy, but a lengthy hard stop will shut them up again, and others had chimed in with no problems at all. Many have said they run the yellows, but that's a more aggressive pad and I knew that just couldn't be quiet after looking at the data sheet comparing the Pagid range.
Taking the advice of the supplier, and mainly from a shipping delay, the orange was selected.
I bedded them in with new OE rotors, put the noise-goo on the back, and even angled the leading edges to take precautions on noise. Well, they're now for sale in the classifieds
I need a pad with better than OE torque and overall performance, without being hard on the rotors, howling like 10 neglected semi-trucks in unison, spraying corrosive dust onto the wheels (I've heard Hawks are known for this), and last at least as long as the OE would.
So council, what say ye? I humbly beg your (hopefully prompt) wisdom
I have to get this car wrapped up asap as it's his daily driver as well.
I went to a Pagid brake seminar led by the Pagid staffer who runs their racing program. Much discussion about yellows, blacks etc. I do track my 01 996 a lot and asked him for his advice on which Pagid pads to buy.
Answer with German accent "Your car is not fast enough, you are an amateur enthusiast (Translation..you are not fast enough), buy the Pagid Blue pads". These are OE pads for the Bugatti Veyron and other high performance cars and I've had them on for one DE event. I've been running the OEM Porsche sport pads that I have been very pleased with. These are another level up. Great modulation and only a occasional squeal when cold.
No comment yet on longevity.
I've had good success with Carbotech's XP8 for the occasional DE and they are fine on the street. A little noise here and there, but not much at all. They are made in North Carolina I beilieve. The XP8 formula is their least aggressive, lowest temp track pack. They have XP10, XP12, etc for more serious use.
I used them on previous cars as well and liked them a lot.
The PO of my car put Pagid oranges on. They are horrible on the street. If I wasn't such a cheap bastard, I would chuck them away. As it is now, they should be worn out by the end of the summer season.
I have the ATE and Textar (stock stuff) available to me, but am assuming they're no better than one another. The Pagid Blue was the pad I had wanted, but that was the shipping delay that made them unavailable. If they're ok for the street, that would be my choice. Never heard of Porsche sport pads though... ?
Orient,
The Carbotech line looks interesting, however that XP8 says they're for lightweight cars and aren't recommended for street because of dust (which doesn't matter) and noise (which really does). But you have no problems with them on the street on a heavier car? How's the life so far?
PFPADM,
I've heard the Performance Friction name tossed around here and there, but everyone has a different pad they like and I couldnt' get those in time. I am really interested in those because of what others have said and their price point.
