Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I previously upgraded the stereo system using a cheap Kenwood 4-channel amplifier that I screwed into the OEM mount for the "Hi-Fi" amplifier in the frunk.
Leading evidence: 'Use cheap kenwood 4-channel amplifier' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use cheap kenwood 4-channel amplifier' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I previously upgraded the stereo system using a cheap Kenwood 4-channel amplifier that I screwed into the OEM mount for the "Hi-Fi" amplifier in the frunk. It was a bit sloppy, so I knew I needed a more elegant solution when I upgraded my amplifier again.
I ultimately decided to upgrade to a JL Audio VX700/5i amplifier (75w x4 + 300w x1) for the dash, doors, and (eventually) a subwoofer in the rear deck. (I don't have rear speakers since I like an upfront center stage, but that's a debate for another day.)
I'm an amateur at best in 3D modeling, so I challenged myself to learn enough CAD to design a mount that would utilize all of the OEM attachments for the bracket: two bolts at the top and a pressure fit into factory clips at the bottom.
This was the result:
I sent the design off to
SendCutSend
, to be cut out of 5052 aluminum, bent, anodized, and M4 nuts pressed in place to secure the JL Audio amplifier.
Here's the result installed:
And with the amplifier in place (protective plastic still on it):
I'm very happy with the result, although the anodizing is pricey. The final part cost $85. It could be ~$30 cheaper without anodizing, but I wanted a finished look without paint.
Love it! I'm doing something similar to mine, giving up the rear speakers, upgrading the fronts to Focals and the door speakers to Focal subs (via

I worked with
Cory with Sub Box Designs for a DYI set of plans for my JL10DW3 and to fit perfectly on the rear seats folded down. Goot it built, and this spring plan to start wiring what I can before having a pro-=audio shop do the final tune.
I did get the full detailed drawings for each component to do this myself.
Fits perfectly under the windjammer and on top of the rear seats (folded down). The glass fridge magnets in the foreground are unrelated.
Almost a year later, I finally wired up the amplifier. Very happy with the mount; the angle of it gives enough space to tuck some of the bulky wiring. Next up is installing some Focal speakers in the dash and 6.5" woofers in the doors.
