Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

31 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I believe you can go up to 235 mm tires on 8.5" wheels and still not rub.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hahahaha. Sure man ... Give me time (: OHH and i just remember ... Would installing the X74 kit give rubbing in the wheel wells ...

POST 4Original post

too little info... need tire tize, wheel size and offsets but if everything is pretty "stock" no, it should not rub anywhere... check out Pete's install thread.. 3 https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...he-x74-on.html

POST 5Original post

I love my Fabspeeds. My neighbors, not so much. Go through a tunnel in third gear with the windows down!

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I ve got 18 inch wheels with 225 in the front and 285 in the back. I am more concerned about the front rubbing.

POST 7Original post

I don't think you have anything to worry about

POST 8Original post

Congrats, you will be delighted with the transformation..great choice... Enusre you get a proper alignment, and correct X74 installation, as the front mounting holes need some adjustment to optimize camber. Speaking from expereince as i have the X74 and Fabspeed exahust for some time

Merry Christmas man ! I get myself a set of wheels and coilovers

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got the x74 kit from gert. Very nice guy. Merry christmas guys!!

POST 14Original post

the x74 is a great setup you will love it, but you will have to get used to spot pot hole as they are...sporty

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hahaha. Definitely. Having the X74 on also means i m gonna have difficulty going up into carparks etc ...

POST 16Original post

Its really not that bad. I have a front splitter with the Aerokit and I need to pay attention where I point the car......driveways, speedbumps, parking ramps...if you drive straight on I hit the splitter, if I take it at a angle I'm good to go.

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 8119321

on heavy breaking into a corner its amazing how close those splitter get to the ground so do you drive the track at angles

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 8124428

I was amazed at how close that splitter is from hitting the pavement on my avatar...it reeeeally was heavy braking. The X74 is Porsche magic!

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My porky is in the workshop x74!

POST 20Original post

pretty smooth then I watched GT3's on the autocross where the imputs are a little more abrupt and I swear the splitter had to have hit its so close...if anthing on my cars gets that close to the ground I will know a wheel fell off

POST 21Original post

cant wait to see pics. i have the fabspeed maxflows, they are great. make sure you get the v-clamps, as the factory ones will likely snap off due to age. mine did, and I only has 19k miles on the car.

POST 22Original post

I have 235/40R18 on stock (8.0) wheels in front and I can go lock to lock without rubbing. I believe you can go up to 235 mm tires on 8.5" wheels and still not rub.

hahahaa. They are well in shape!

POST 26Original post

don't forget the gt-3 sway bars to complete the package.

POST 27Original post

With my stock 996 bumper there was never a problem hitting it on ramps, etc. Now that I've installed the turbo front bumper I have to watch out. Hit it several time already. One thing I don't think anyone has mentioned is the engine protection cover. Very important to me since I've already scrapped the cover several times going up ramps. I'm surprised Gert didn't recommend it with the X74 kit.

POST 28Original post

Very good point. I have one after Gert's suggestion. Have not scraped yet but good to know its there.

POST 29Original post

Quotes source post: 8130971

Hopefully you'll never scrape it but if you do, you'll be VERY happy it's there!

+1 You should have no problem with that combo as long as your wheels have the correct offsets. I have the x74 package on my 996 and I've got 235's in the front and 295's in the back with no rubbing. Enjoy.

POST 31 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Engine cover sounds good. Looks like I am gonna get one myself.
