Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I use RUF that is mounted on the tranny 1/2HR install and has 3 settings for throw feels comfortable however does not take out side play.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Am interested in a short shifter and a friend says it is an easy install and he will help me out. Searched the threads and it looks like the B&M is very common and what he has....looks like it costs $250. They range on ebay from no-name imports for $50 to OEM on Suncoast for $450.
Some of the descriptions say "mounts from the bottom to avoid notchy feel" like that's some kind of rarity.
So, can you guys flick me some thoughts from your experience. Am interested in brand, cost, pros/cons. Thanks in advance!
I use RUF that is mounted on the tranny 1/2HR install and has 3 settings for throw feels comfortable however does not take out side play. As far as price comparable around $250 clams. I have not tried any others so I cannot make comparisons.
This is what I've found. Not sure but I'm guessing 'shift console upgrade' is the the short shifter. and it's $194 and $350 for the GT3 version.

The 997 Shift Console Upgrade is the basic 997 assemble which is slighty shorter. The actual 997 Porsche Factory Short Shift Kit is $429.95. PM me if you become interested in a B&M SS..
Roy- I have a B&M short shifter, I'll make you a good deal on it. I moved away from the short shifter to a 997 stock shifter (997 since it was free, and I had already sold the 996 shifter). I liked the short throw around town but not on the track.
I love y b&M short shifter, very cool around town, once you get used to it, it is just right.
exactly as it should be.
now I don't even think it is short throw or a little harder to push, just great.
+ 1 on B&M. B&M is a Porsche supplier, so no real need to spend up for the Porsche OEM piece. Been happy with mine for 4 years. Precise, quick and short.
