Suggestion
It is a coilover, but all adjustments are set by Porsche (it's non-adjustable).

i'm sure you can use the gt3 sways instead of the one coming from the row kit.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I picked up my C2 this afternoon at my indy after he installed a used M030(still don't know if it's ROW or US version)suspension in my Porsche. I've only driven 75 miles since then, but I have to say,"what an improvement over stock"!! The 'floaty' feeling is gone, yet the ride and handling quality have undergone a transformation and made my plain jane 996 a different car to drive. I did it on the cheap by buying a used package from a fellow Rennlister and getting my indy shop instead of a dealer for the install.(total outlay for parts and including the install labor-$796, including a new alignment). This is the best $ I've spent to date for a noticable gain since owning my 911. I would reccomend this to anyone with a stock setup. Thanks for all the help answering my many questions and concerns.
Thanks Orient Express, I'll take a look tomorrow, but it will never be as clean as your pic.If anyone is still running stock I would suggest buying an M030 like trackjunky's since he is looking for an upgrade to Ohlins.
I also just installed a M030 suspension, and was wondering if I got the US or RoW version? I just checked and I've got the green dots on mine.
I agree- it has transformed the car. My mechanic told me that while I might like it, my wife will no longer enjoy riding in the car due to the increased harshness. This has not been the case so far, in fact she drove in the canyons last week and commented on how much better the car drives!
+ a bunch.
Between the RoW M030 suspension, new alignment, and switching from worn out Contis to new Advan Neova AD07s... the change in handling is amazing!
I'll look this weekend. I think that there is 68K on the car, but it's a garage queen that I am bastardizing into a track car. Sacrilege!
The guy I bought it from had every receipt for every service the car ever had.
Mine have a gray dot indicating USA not ROW. I still like the improvements over stock....however, I'll bet the ROW is even better. My ride height appears unchanged, but the ride has really been upgraded over stock. The front and rear stabilizer bars happen to be the same for USA or ROW according to a recent article I read so that's good news.
Has anyone gone from US 030 to the ROW 030? Any difference other than being
slightly
lower? I ask because I have 60k+ miles and I want to freshing up the shocks/springs, but I can't quite justify a coilover system until I'm ready to go all 'race' with it. Seems all the threads related to ROW refer to having stock suspension before the swap....which doesn't tell me if they had US 030. The only other thing I will probably do along with new springs/shocks is going ahead with the GT3 sways. Thanks for any input
justin... they are the same just that the ROW is lower. I doubt that many have gone from US M030 to ROW M030.
There is always X73/X74 susp which is stiffer and lower and OEM. see the carnewal site
+1 on the green dot. Maybe it's a bit jarring in the city of potholes and big apples for a passenger but I've never heard any complaints. Out on a country road or at the track, there is no substitute. RoW all the way.
Guys real quick. What does the ROW Kit consist of ? I bought a set of GT3 Sway Bars Front and Back along with new Drop Links can I use the ROW with these or does the kit come with sways ?
the row mo30 kit comes with 4 shock absorbers, 4 springs, 2 sway bars and 2 bump stops. also it come with new rubber for the sway bars.
hope these help!
ruffy
i don't really have much experience with this thing. i'm a newbie and just installed the whole kit. i'm sure you can use the gt3 sways instead of the one coming from the row kit. i think the gt3 swaybar is adjustable so that it can give you more option to tinker with the handling.
good luck!
I do this, great combo. I love being able to have some adjustability in the handling via the sway bar settings. I know quite a few guys doing this locally an like it.
You could do the x74. It's Porsche's most aggressive set up for our cars (shy of the GT3). It is a coilover, but all adjustments are set by Porsche (it's non-adjustable). Ride height and stiffness are close to GT3 levels.
Currently waiting for my ROW M030 from Sunset. $1086 delivered. Should be here in the next week. (They said a month to ship from the factory.)
Please forgive the thread-jack but I was going to have this installed at an indy and was wondering if I should drive it for a few days after the install but before I have it aligned or just have it all done on one visit. I've heard the car will settle a bit and am concerned that this might screw up the alignment. Any thoughts?
