Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

If/when I take my US 996 back to the UK, I'll need to change the side repeaters to flash, and (because the UK drives on the left) I'll need to find a way to adjust the headlight beam pattern, possibly by buying new assemblies.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust headlight beam pattern, possibly by buying new assemblies' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What does the Porsche factory due to the USA production cars to make them different than the rest-of-the-world cars?
Asked differently, what would a German need to change on a USA 996 exported back to Germany?
For example, I have heard that the struts and springs are taller on the USA models to meet USA bumper requirements. Also, I am aware that Euro 996's have some issue with them lowering their value in the USA, and making them suitable primarily as track cars, rather than street cars, but I don't know exactly what this issue is.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
The bits I know are:
- Slightly higher suspension to ensure bumper height requirements are met.
- Side lights set up for always-on at night, instead of flashing with the turn signals as in Europe.
I suspect, but I don't know, that Euro cars don't have exactly the same OBDII emissions monitor, but they must have a very similar emissions management system as engine output is the same.
I think I recall that at one time, the 964 rear wing activated at a lower speed on US cars, as it would never operate at US-legal speeds.
If/when I take my US 996 back to the UK, I'll need to change the side repeaters to flash, and (because the UK drives on the left) I'll need to find a way to adjust the headlight beam pattern, possibly by buying new assemblies. Otherwise there shouldn't be any special work needed.
there are also differenses one the radio. On us cars you only get in 101,1 and 101,3, not101,2 and 101,4 Miles vs KM. celsius vs fahrenheit.
The bumberretts.
The flash signal and suspention as said over.
I have imported a car from us too europe and tht are the things I remeber fornow.
on my 02 996, you can for sure change Miles to Kilometers and also Celsius to Fahrenheit with the computer...
Not sure about the radio stuff... and this function may only be available from '02 and up?
There was an article in the Wall Street Journal last month talking about imports to Europe from the US becoming economical. This is from the article talking about someone importing a Volvo:
"There it was picked up by F.W. Kalkofen GbR, a business that specializes in modifying cars to European standards. Speedometers are adjusted to read in kilometers instead of miles, headlights are adjusted and engines undergo an emissions test. Basic modifications cost anywhere from €1,000 to €2,500, says 51-year-old owner Friedrich-Wilhelm Kalkofen."
The article said that Porsches were popular, and that "Mr. Kalkofen, who also handles orders from outside Germany, says demand for the Porsche Cayenne SUV is so brisk that he designed a custom speedometer to help accelerate conversions to kilometers."
I would assume that if you called that company, they could give you a fixed price on what was needed.
