Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Once the Porsche goes the chip goes in the A4 and we can run with the big boys again.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Financial considerations and the need to add a more practical car to the family mix has finally forced me to list my 1999 C2 for sale. I just posted the ad in the classified if anyone is interested. It is going to be interesting to see how much interest I get on it. I did agonize over the price and finally settled on $25,000 which I am sure is too high for some and too low for others. In the end it is what I felt was fair to me and fair to a buyer. The 99,000 miles do hurt although they were racked up on a really nice daily commute.
I listed the options codes but there were 3 I could not find or maybe I read them wrong. If anyone might know what they are, I would appreciate it. The codes are 222, 436, and 939.
To replace the Porsche I will probably end up in Jeep GC Limited with the Hemi. Not having something big to haul stuff was just not working and the Porsche is the only car not covered with a warranty, so it has to go. All is not lost though as in the family mix I still have my A4 with Stasis kit and a Mini Cooper S. Once the Porsche goes the chip goes in the A4 and we can run with the big boys again.
According to Adrian Streather's 996 The Essential Companion:
222: Traction Control System
436: Three Spoke leather steering wheel with air bag
939: Seat cover rear draped leather
I went to the member to member classified in this forum and can't find a post of your vehicle. I then tried that Classifieds link in the upper right hand of the page (
www.rennlist.com/ads
) and get a blank page - I'm using FF 3.
Just checked and found it by sorting on the year - 1999. It is ad 8028. Asking $25,000. I pasted in the verbage below.
High miles as a result of a daily 130 mile round trip commute, but it really doesn't show. Car looks and drives like new. This truly is a driver's car, well used but never abused.
2nd owner since 41,000 miles. Full service history of car available, always serviced by selling Porsche dealer. Basically trouble free, no history of RMS, transmission and clutch replaced at 92,000 miles due to limited slip differential clutches failing.
Options include: 220 - Locking Differential, 222 - Traction Control System, 224 - Active Brake Differntial, 436 - Three Spoke Leather Covered Steering Wheel with airbag, 437 & 438 - Comfort Seat Left & Right Electrically adjustable, 490 - Hi Fi Sound System, 537 - Seating Position Control for Comfort Left Seat, 692 - CD-Changer, 982 - Supple Leather Seats/Trim, 939 - Seat cover rear draped leather.
Added by dealer Short Throw Shifter, FAB SPEED Exhaust, Litronic headlights, clear side markers, after-market amp and upgraded speakers.
There are no mechanical issues with this car. Interior does show some wear on the seat bolsters, but outside paint is like new. Car has never been in accident.
Almost new (90% tread left) Bridgestones on 17" rims. Spare set of OEM rims with used Blizzaks are also available.
I will agree the asking price is on the high side, but there is the knowledgeble Rennlister price and the "wow, I have to have this car" shopper price. I thought about two different prices depending on where I list it, but decided to try here first. I would certainly entertain any reasonable offer from a fellow Rennlister.
I actually managed to get a halfway reasonable cash trade in price from one Jeep dealer, so I already have a fall back position. I think someone in his dealership wants the car because it was much higher than two other dealerships. Part of my selling price was throwing in the spare OEM rims with snow tires. But I am sure there will be some serious negotiating.
Right on!! Don't let what I said discourage you, I got plenty of those sort of remarks from Rennlisters and still got what I was asking for, or close to it. List it at $25k and see what happens. You can always let them haggle a grand or so off.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SALE!!!
