Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I ran wires up from the phone connector in my 2003 C2.
Leading evidence: 'Run wires up' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Reset sunroof limit settings, no issues' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

So that is when I ran wiring from the phone connector.

What I can say for sure is that I just lowered the over-head switch/light console and using my grounded Test Light , back-probed the wires untill I found one that was hot when key ON then verified it went cold when key OFF, then used a Posi-Tap to tap into it and hard-wire the Garmin and Radar Detector into it ....

I used the volt meter to check it out, however, when I tried to tap to the wires, the V1 did not come on.

Much Easier than running a wire from the fuse box, up behind the dash and up the A-piller and across the roof if you are going to mount the stuff over-head ...

I just know I pulled down the overhead console that has the sunroof switch and the interior lights and used my Test light to find a key switched source..
Test light , back-probed the wires untill i found one

Is it possible to tap in to the sunroof button or any electrical wiring on the front headliner area that I can use for a switched source for a V1 radar detector?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is it possible to tap in to the sunroof button or any electrical wiring on the front headliner area that I can use for a switched source for a V1 radar detector?
I don't think so... I just looked over the wiring diagrams, and the sunroof switch/motor power comes from the same source as the power windows, which aren't ignition-switched. You're probably best off tying into the unused telephone connector in the center console, and running that up the A-pillar to the headliner.
I was wrong. See below.
Yes you can ... I hardwired my Garmin and Radar Detector to the Sunroof Wiring/interior light wiring ....It comes on when key is turned on and goes off when the key is turned off..

Do you mind letting me know the colors of the wires for the switched positive and the negative. I tried and have not been successful. I used the volt meter to check it out, however, when I tried to tap to the wires, the V1 did not come on. The last time I tried, even after I pulled the wire connector from the sunroof button, all of the sudden the sunroof started to slide open
It's been 17 years since I hardwired those so not 100% sure on the wire color so not going to say ..

I am not sure what happened getting the switched source from the sunroof. I was able to identify the switched positive and the negative from the plug to the switch. However, when I connected that to the V1 radar detector and turn the ignition to “On” the sunroof goes into the initialization process by itself without the radar detector turning “On” and without me pushing the sunroof button. I basically gave up trying to do that as I don’t want to screw up the sunroof programming as I had some bad experience with that
I may have hardwired mine to the interior light wiring....It's been 17 years ....

I ran wires up from the phone connector in my 2003 C2. I had initially connected to the sunroof power, and then found the sunroof always losing the limit settings (one-touch settings). Removed the connection to the V1 and reset the sunroof limit settings, no issues. So that is when I ran wiring from the phone connector.

No auto dimming mirror on my car, just the old flip switch on the rear view mirror and I can’t see any of the interior light wiring to be switched. Oh, well, since I don’t want to hard wire a cable from the phone connector and routed through the pillar to the overhead console, I just convert the lighter from always on to switched from the phone connector. Not ideal but better than having to always pull the cable out when I park.
