Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm going to be putting up my 996 cab for sale in the spring. Apart from Excellence and Porsche Panorama, are there any other places to advertise people could reccommend. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who's had experience with any of the internet sites such as AutoTrader.com and cars.com. TIA.
This is a good place to start. This is where I first looked when I was searching for a 996 cab. Also,
www.pca.org
. Ebay also seems to have quiet a few Porsche cars.
autotrader did it for me. i had my car listed for 6-mos. till it finally sold (one price, runs till it sells). i spent $$$ on ebay motors, waste of money. spent $$$ in local papers, also a waste. imo, excellence, panorama, et al, are best for rare cars. 996s are a dime-a-dozen...
Sold my 996 in July. Had it on eBay and got one guy that really wanted it but couldn't quite afford it. Put it in the local paper and the first guy to look at it bought it on the spot. Sometimes the old ways work best...
E-bay is great exposure for a seller; a real cesspool for the buyer, who has to be VERY wary.
One of many interesting Ebay reports which I just saw on roadfly. Guy had an E46 M3, seriously damaged in an accident. Some disagreement over whether it was totalled or not, but regardless car had serious damage, police reports filed, insurance claims made, etc.
Some time later the guy sees the car listed by someone else on E-bay, touting a clean carfax, and biling the car as "no known" accidents or repairs:

Anyway, I agree with the others, I'd use Autotrader.com and your local newspaper if you're in an big enough city to have a local market.
