Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The last idea I have is to replace the seats with ones compatible with the headrest safes available.

There is the pop-up style safe Ive seen used in vehicles, but it would use 4-5 of the passenger leg space next to the console.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Like many people, I have a concealed weapon permit. My 01 doesn't have a glovebox, just the door compartments that don't lock and the center armrest that does. The only thing I can fit in the center armrest is a (very) small .32 semi-automatic. Also, there isn't enough clearance for a locking box under the front seat.
How do you store your weapon when leaving the car without it? Frunk?
TIA
I have one of these installed under the passenger seat of all my cars. It would sow a thief down but can easily be defeated with a set of bolt cutters. Ive rarely used it!

I can fit a Walther F series in a holster in the door cubby. I usually drive with it on but only remove it for long car trips. Same for my Audi and VW.
I’ve had a Glock 42 and a SW Bodyguard 2.0 (both .380) fit nicely in the center armrest bin. Generally I have soft pocket holsters so that helps in avoiding bulk.
Additionally I have no decals/ indications on my car that I like weapons. No need to give people an incentive to look for a prize.
This is a valid question as there are many places that are off limits for concealed carry like schools, post offices, government buildings, airports etc. I would look at a mounting a drawer safe in the frunk next to (or in place of) the amplifier. A biometric one would eliminate the need for a key. The custom route would be to convert one of the backseat backs to house a safe. That would be invisible with the seat back in the upright position. There is also the Boosted Safe out of Utah, but that would require you to install a couple of child car seat hooks in the backseat for the Boosted Safe to secure to. There is the pop-up style safe Ive seen used in vehicles, but it would use 4-5 of the passenger leg space next to the console. Another custom idea would be to find a safe that would fit in the dead space of the lower center console in front of the shifter and have someone with a 3D printer make a custom delete with the correct opening for the safe. The last idea I have is to replace the seats with ones compatible with the headrest safes available. Keep us posted as to what you come up with!
I slide my 5.7 under the driver seat still in its holster whenever I go to work. Otherwise, I drive with it on. Not the most secure option, but it's completely out of sight and pretty snug.
well, just like I said, I leave it in the door handle cubby. The car is locked so any more than that, they'll just destroy the lock box I could put it in and take it anyways.
I think there is more room under the passenger seat, maybe enough for a tethered lockbox? But my Sig Sauer P938 fits in the center console if you take the mag out, and its 9mm.
I just checked and the lockbox I already have fits nicely under the passenger seat. Thanks!
I need to put something under it to keep it from sliding around when I drive, but it will work, and will allow me to carry one of my other EDC weapons.
