This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I have recently purchased a 2001 996 and it has some interesting options. One is the PSE but there is no button to switch it on and off. I looked at the actual mufflers and confirmed they are the PSE units. I even fallowed the wires to the vacuum switch in the engine bay. After doing some research, it looks like there was a PSE that has some sensors and opens the valves under load % and rpm range. Is that really a thing? This all started when I was looking at getting some 200 cell cats. Anyway, excited to be a part of the community!

POST 2Original post

PSE is default open (loud setting) but closes between 30mph and 45mph due to some EU regulations. The valve controller is connected to the speedometer to pull these values. I didn't even know that the 996.1 came with PSE from the factory. I've never seen a .1 with the XLF option code.

POST 3Original post

Carrara over Savanna with XAA, wow 😃 I've never heard of a .1 equipped with factory PSE either. Would think PO added it and just didn't route the button. Bradley

Yea, added it new with the aero kit at the dealer. I have all the original paperwork from the dealer, only 2 owners and 50k original miles. After all the add ons from deal before delivery, sticker was $94k I believe. Here is a pic of the options from dealer.

I'm just excited to learn more about this specific car and this platform. Im very familiar with 3.0 SCs & 3.2s, but not water cooled. This car also has what I think is the Bilstein B-12 Pro Kit that lowered it 30mm. Lots of little things Im trying to research. Cheers!

POST 8Original post

Beautiful car! Love the white on tan. Porsche parts installed at the dealer it looks like, so not factory aero kit or factory exhaust. Would love to see it on some black Fuchs!

Just ordered a staggered set of SM-10 from Discount Tire. I know the manager of my local shop. So excited!
