Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I can't even remember the last time I checked 6speed because it seems like the crowd is a little less knowledgeable and informed.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Who posts on 6speedonline? Why do you? What do you like about Rennlist? What do you like about 6speed?
Just interested in where people spend there time. I personally enjoy the Rennlist community
I like 6speed better since no one hassles you for membership and there is no restriction on viewing / posting FS and OT. The crowd is younger and more interesting. No flames please, just my opinion since you asked. I visit both sites everyday.
I used to visit 6speed more frequently, but I found that they tend to cater to more of a "show" crowd than a "go" crowd. In my opinion:
6speed: show
Renntech: technical
Renlist: balance of show, go, and technical
I spend my time split between Rentech and Renlist.
Rennlist and Renntech get my daily views. I can't even remember the last time I checked 6speed because it seems like the crowd is a little less knowledgeable and informed.
Funny you should ask. Two days ago I decided that Rennlist is the only place for me. I have spent time on 6-Speed in the past but much prefer Rennlist. IMO 6-Speed is much more "bling" in nature, that's fine, nothing wrong with that, just not my cup o' tea. The only thing that bothered me about 6-Speed is that I've seen people that don't know what they're talking about post bogus answers to technical questions. Rennlist rules.
I post to both...6 speed comes and goes in cycles.....one minute is very active with lots of great info and the next its dead....I think it goes in cycles with what cars the "knowledgeable" there own...it seems that alot of 996 NA guys have gotten TT's or GT3's so they have migrated to those areas....Rennlist seems to be more active, with LOTS of great info.....6 speed is also VERY local...If you are in SoCal, thats where most of the 996 6 speeders seem to be....
Here is what I do...for 996TT I prefer 6speedonline as it is more active. For 996 Rennlist is more active. For real technical help Renntech. I actually open them all with tabs in my browser at the same time. It does seem as though Rennlist draws a more "conservative" crowd and 6speed draws a less "conservative" crowd. Funny thing is I recognize almost all of the folks from both forums!
DJ: I think Rob's question was a joke based on your initial comment, at least that's the way I interpreted it. Rob-- nice response, very funny.
As far as why should you pay, I suspect the answer is that the people who run the site wouldn't mind getting the site's expenses (whatever they are) covered. (Forget getting paid for their time-- my guess that's not even in the realm of possibility given the time in. It's probably a labor of love).
Don't pay any attention to him Rob. He actually loves when people call him out for his 1K+ posts and not a member so he can go off on his "why should I pay" rant. I've learned to take his responses in one eye and out the other
Do you see any banner ads? For a small fee, you help reward Rennlist for putting together a great forum where the value for the exchange of ideas far outweighs the cost.
Anytime you are harrassed for not paying for a membership just copy & paste the following and if
they
don't like it
they
can complain to the guy that wrote it!
Renntech for more hardcore tech
Rennlist for everything else
Never go onto 6-speed
Local Danish/Swedish boards are full of people who say nothing interesting
I use Rennlist and Renntech. I signed up for 6speed but after several requests to activate my account with zero response I blew them off my radar screen.
Rennlist - for a mature discussion, track/etc
Rennteam - for cutting edge news and a very clever international crowd
Renntech - for the most hardcore technical questions
Both forums are great it depends what you're looking for i mean 6speed for bling and things.
Rennlist for info and a everyday kind of people crowd, even seems here people turn their own whrenches
I checked out 6 speed once and noticed that a lot of peoeple from here were on there saying similar things. No idea how you guys find the time to read up & post daily on a forum, let alone two or three.
Some write daily, weekly, monthly and even hourly (I could be faulted for the latter now and again). For some, including myself, this is like a country club or driving club: it's a bunch of guys passionate about something and sharing their experiences and advice with others sharing that passion. It's what I love about Rennlist. A group of total strangers coming together and having a good ol' time. Can't wait for the 'run' on May 28 in the tri-state area.
I hope you understand that I'm not suggesting that I'm not a fan of the forums... I think they're great. I'm just eluding to the fact that I seem to have a hard enough time keeping up on one SECTION (996) in one forum let alone other sections and other forums! Those that make time to do this are celebrities in my opinion. I think having passion in whatever you do is an ingredient for a happy life. No knock on the guys that are passionate about multiple forums, I was just stating the logistical facts. Later!
