Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

In the past I have used mostly Evolution 3 and 4 material covers on my VWs.
Leading evidence: 'Use mostly evolution 3 and 4 material covers' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best ding protection' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend highly by my brother who covers his collector cars' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Picked up my new to me 2002 C4 Cab last week. Iv'e been doiing some homework on car covers. Any recommendations on which cover is best for a garaged car?
Porsche European Tequipment car cover (very different from US Tequipment car covers). No seams, soft lined, colored crest, fantastic fit.
I have one for my 996TT and 968.
You can get them from Sunset Imports (cost + 15%).
Here is a pic of the cover on the 968:

Got mine at California Car Cover - recommended highly by my brother who covers his collector cars with them. I got the Plushweave (cotton and flannel). Fit is perfect and price is right ($169). Very happy with it! You can find them at

The answer depends on what you want to protect your car from. I assume you wont
use the cover in the garage but when parked outside.
My primary reason for using a car cover is to reduce UV exposure, to keep dirt and
the occasional sprinkle of the car, as a theft deterrent and to reduce dings.
In the past I have used mostly Evolution 3 and 4 material covers on my VWs. They
are very bulky, offer good UV protection and probably the best ding protection because
of their bulk, are water resistant, but last only about 5 years before they shred. Non fitted
ones can be had very cheaply (e.g., 30$ costco).
However, for the 996 I decided to get something different:
I got a stormproof car cover from
http://www.coverking.com/customcarcovers_materials.html
What attracted me to this cover is that it does not rely on chemical coating to offer water resistance.
It feels more like a light goretex windbreaker from REI. It's a lot less bulky than the KC Evo fabrics
and water just slides right of like on a Teflon frying pan. It does not offer good ding protection,
but also does not take up the entire trunk like the Evo covers would. It is however pricey.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
