Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Intake temperatures have also been reduced by around 10% over the standard EVO setup, allowing me to run a little leaner than orginally allowed.
Leading evidence: 'Run little leaner than orginally allowed' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run little leaner than orginally allowed' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

since the only significant way to boost power on the SC is to run a smaller pulley, how much boost are you running now and have you dyno'd it?

Suggestion
This would allow you to run your SC at it's maximum efficiency but also control the amount of boost you allow into the engine.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I always knew the 3.6L cars were quick with the EVO Super Charger on them but I'm suprised as to how fast in real life... I spoke to Todd@EVO over the weekend and he himself (trust me he's no drag racer!) took his 3.6L 997 Super Charged car to a local Arizona drag strip (bear in mind the alitutude stunts mph and times considerably) and the car did a 12.1 @ 119. Very impressive numbers indeed. Considering he was driving and that it was in Arizona (the launches weren't super hard either so there's room for imrovement) at altitude I think it's safe to say that car really can go 11s!

It's about time Todd got the 3.6 moving with some quickness. LOL. Turned a 7.30 1/8 mile and 11.58 for the 1/4 at 121 for my best so far. However, I have modified my EVO setup so much, I doubt Todd would want to offer it to the general public. I am waiting to blow up one of these days.
You keep stressing altitude, which makes a difference but just how much. Most of the tracks in AZ are 1000 to 1100 MSL. Are you saying that a person in Colorado need not apply because of the altitude? If that is the case sales might not be very strong across a country of varying altitudes. Sea level is great for making power but we all dont have that. Its my opinion that the SC will greatly improve the HP no matter where you live. I'm not trying to flame I just think It sounded a little off. If I read something into it that wasn't meant than I apologize.
Living in Colorado I kind of feel cheated on HP -- losing about 15-20% to altitude -- rough rule of thumb is 3% loss/per 1000ft of altitude. Of course that gives me an excuse to add mods and recoup the losses!!!
Here's a link to a relative HP calculator.

any upgardes to the fuel system or clutch?
Clutch is a stage 2. Increasing boost alone won't give you all the power you can get out of the non-egas 3.4. Other mods, including intake control, variable MAF control, timing, engine cooling and proper plugs have made a big difference. As a matter of fact, you reach a point where too much boost will actually degrade the car's performance. I simply enjoy pushing the limits for self gratification. When she bows...she blows. The car still drives like stock for around town driving.
Hi there, no need to appologize- I wasn't trying to say that it would make a HUGE difference. I actually thought the track was closer to 3000 feet but looked back and it's only at 1400. I'm not from Arizona so my mistake! I just said that with it being a 12.1, the same run at sea leavel may have been an 11.99 or so. I also think it does have an 11 second pass in it with a more aggressive launch. Let's face a 1.97 60 foot is barely launching
Hehe... well most people with Porsches aren't into drag racing (just idiots like me!) but for a quick pass with a soft launch I thought it was a great start. Nice run on the 11.58 @ 121. You must have gotten like a 1.7 or so 60 foot? Some more aggressive anyways... What did you modify:P? Do tell
?
THanks man.. I was only saying it'd make a "small" enough difference to have been an 11 second pass at sea level
Nothing wrong with these cars above it. Sure there's a slight power loss but it's not huge...
good luck with that.... he always talks about the mods but will never specifically say what he did. it's some sort of super top secret project that he refuses to share with the rest of us
i'd be just curious to know how much boost he's running. i'm guessing 8 psi.
he's got the 3.4 liter. i'm just guessing at his boost though. he won't officially say. see how gets silent in these threads when you ask him what he's running
Now, if I were to give all the details of my mods, I wouldn't have any advantage, would I?
However, I will say that I have about 30% more boost at 3600 rpm that your setup DOG. Big help in the low end. Intake temperatures have also been reduced by around 10% over the standard EVO setup, allowing me to run a little leaner than orginally allowed.
okay, next question... how can you vary the boost at certain rpms? there is no wastegate, so how do you do it? i thought the only way to modify boost on a SC is to either make the pulley bigger or smaller.
You could put in a variable rate pulley (which I have NOT done) or a smaller SC pulley, or a larger crank pulley. You could also do what you suggested by installing a variable wastegate or bypass valve. This would allow you to run your SC at it's maximum efficiency but also control the amount of boost you allow into the engine.
To calculate your lowend boost, calculate the square of your maximum boost at maximum rpm. This is the amount of boost you have at 1/2 your maximum rpm.
In your case: The square of 5 psi is 2.24 which means this is the amount of boost you have at an engine speed of 3650.
