Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

O.K., I did a search but couldn't come up the the answer. It looks like you can snap the corners in with the headlights in place, but I'm not sure you can get the old ones out without pulling the lights. Anyone? I've got to keep pace with you guys - as for as the mods go that is.

POST 2Original post

No, you do not have to pull the headlights. I seem to remember there was a bit in the manual about reaplacing the light bulb in the corners that outlined the proceedure. Either that or I just ripped 'em out...

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. I tried to rotate them out and the old ones died upon removal. The new ones snapped in place nicely.

POST 4Original post

I assume by clear corners, you're referring to the clear "triangle" next to the turn signal and below the main headlight? If so, then yes, you do have to remove the headlight unit in order to pull out the triangle. The triangle has plastic tabs that snap in easily with the headlight unit in place, but those tabs are difficult to access and disengage unless you flip the unit over.

POST 5Original post

If you don't care about the old ones then you do not have to remove the headlamp assembly since they will just break out once you destroy the plastic tabs. But to be safe I would still remove the assemble so you can CAREFULLY install the new ones without fear inserting them incorrectly and breaking another plastic tab on the new one. Besdies, it will only take you 5 minutes to remove the headlamp assembly replace the corner and re-install. Do it correctly!

POST 6Original post

Removing the headlights is easy they just unplug. I think you use a hex wrench in a hole in the trunk. I have done it and it was so easy I forgot the details. I guess that's what happens as you turn 65.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks to all. The clear triangle pieces and clear side markers are installed. And yes I've figured out the "rules". Pics as soon as I can wash the car. It's pretty cold here, but warmer tomorrow and Sun.
