Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I recently read (on another message board) that PSM had different "maps" that it uses according to perceived driver skill.

I know that Tiptonic (in auto mode) uses different maps to chose shift points, however I did not think this was true of PSM.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently read (on another message board) that PSM had different "maps" that it uses according to perceived driver skill. The way it was explained on the other board was as follows; "And believe it or not, PSM is adaptive--the better you drive the longer of a leash it will give you--correspondingly, drive like a ham-fisted fool, and PSM will really clamp down on you." I know that Tiptonic (in auto mode) uses different maps to chose shift points, however I did not think this was true of PSM. Does anyone here know the answer???

Ray, You might try PCA tech. Sounds like a topic worthy of publishing in Pano. Search PCA homepage tech articles too. Might find some info there.

POST 4Original post

All I can tell you is that at the very instant your "seat of the pants sensor" tells you that the rear is coming about if you crank in a little "into the skid" stearing correction the PSM does not activate. In my 2001 AWD RX300 the VSC/Trac activates before I even feel any "sensor" inputs.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
