Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I artfully swerved and actually ran over it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The other day, I'm driving home, minding my own business, actually doing the speed limit (mostly because of the crown vic two cars back...) the roads are covered in salt so I try not to get too close to anybody. The car ahead of me kicks up what looks like a small rock. I artfully swerved and actually ran over it. Small whump. (Not "whump, whump" which would have been better.) Get home, park the car. I go to move the car later that evening and something doesn't feel right. Get out and the right rear is flat. I take the wheel off the car and there's a small, triangular piece of metal sticking out of the tread. I take the tire down to the local tire store thinking it would be a simple puncture repair. Wrong. Like the tip of an iceberg -- what punctured the tire was a wheel weight about an inch and a half long and half an inch wide. I just saw the tip -- the rest was inside, through the casing. Tire is not repairable. The tire was about two months old, close-out Falken Eurowinter tire (no road hazzard policy) but more importantly, there aren't any available as replacements anywhere. So if you happen to have a newish 265/35R18 Eurowinter HS439 that you want to sell me, please drop me a PM. Alternately, if anyone wants a deal on 3 tires, drop me a PM. The fronts are 225/40R18s.

POST 2Original post

Ugg. thanks for the story... sorry for your luck.

POST 4Original post

Sad to hear you "lost" a tire. Have you tried an ebay or Craigslist search for the make and size? Or possibly add another make that may be similar. Either way, it could have been worse. GL

POST 5Original post

Ouch, sorry to hear that, someone has to have one laying around somewhere it might just take you a little while to find one. Just be glad you missed it !!
