Just purchased a 1999 996. It has the ims upgrade and seems much more modern that my 964--which is still a great car. I sold a clk 55 amg mercedes which was great but not a porsche. Great sounding exhaust. How can I tell what kind it is. I will try to post a picture.

2002 amg. Great car but after 14 Porsches since 1967 I just missed a daily driver Porsche. I moved my 91 cab to weekend use a couple of years ago.

Thanks for all the nice comments. 996 much more civilized and better riding than 964. As good as steering is on 964, 996 feels (to me) even better. The 964 feels much more tossable. I do occasional auto X with 964, 996 doesn't seem to fit the role. I may have to try it. I have never seen a 996 at an auto X.
