Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know if the M96 3.6 96MM pistons have enough material to safely bring the CR ratio down from stock 11.3 : 1 to @ 9 : 1?

POST 2Original post

I don't know. Are you trying to boost the engine?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Glad that got your attention. Are you thinking what I am? You would be the guy to make it work instead of trying to SC or TC a high CR M96.

POST 4Original post

That means pulling the pistons and that's a theritory I haven't yet been in with the M96 engine. I would keep the stock internals an use low boost ~5psi.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That would be too easy. Also I think the engine would be better off with @9:1 and higher boost. Didnt know if the CR can be lowered that much on an M96. Lots of AM pistons for the GT's and TT engines, not much luck on the M96. Any idea on the reliability of a healthy stock CR M96 with the SC or Turbo kit?
