Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Thanks to the site I have swapped all the stock speakers to a mid level kenwood and added a double DIN kenwood Nav.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey All, hope everyone is having a great new year. I have a non bose / premium 6 speaker system in my 99 996. Thanks to the site I have swapped all the stock speakers to a mid level kenwood and added a double DIN kenwood Nav. The system as it is now sounds fine but if I want to crank it up the stock amp doesnt cut it. I like plug and play so the double DIN kit I ordered had connections to snap in to the factory wiring. Any out there know of a connector to do the same with the amplifier? I have searched high and low with no luck - google is my friend but not on this subject. The wiring diagrams help if I were to cut the connector but I refuse to do that for the sake of being able to reinstall the stock amp down the road for whatever reason. This isnt driving me to but would be awesome if I could find a solution! Thanks everyone!

POST 2Original post

I've given this some thought as well. I haven't found any plug and play options. The best option I could come up with is finding a donor amp (should be some dead ones out there) and make your own pigtail connector.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Uber thats a good option I have seen mentioned but didnt give it much thought - how many channels did your new amp have? Since I have 6 speakers and I never fade F/R do you think I could get away with a quality 4CH and run the Front/Rear off 2 channels and the doors off the other 2CH? Not sure how this works with with OHM's etc.

POST 4Original post

I never got around to doing anything about it, so I didn't add an amp. I realized that NPR can only be so clear and so loud...What you're describing sounds possible, but I haven't done the math on it.
