Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I assume the fan and bootlid on my own can be removed/disconnected easily.

The parts for the aero tail are easily swapped from your stock deck lid.

Suggestion
go for it, even though it is super expensive and you break the nice clean line of the trunk, so typical of the 911.

Mark, was there much involved in changing the wing?

I'm struggling with refurbishing or replacing with new.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've always loved the look of the aero cars but not too many out there when I was on the hunt. Wanted to add a spoiler and found this listing. Wanted to get your expert opinions. Looking for some aero pieces to add to the car. Do you guys know if this is OEM? Also is the OEM spoiler really $5900 list? Will this fit a NB 1999? Thanks guys...

That's the best price I've seen on an OEM piece. I searched for months to track one down in good shape at a reasonable price. If you're going to go this route this seems like a good opportunity.
the taco wing looks awesome because no other manufacturer has ever done that design, the mkII model is a more conventional design kind of deja vu.
go for it, even though it is super expensive and you break the nice clean line of the trunk, so typical of the 911. I actually have a brand new unpainted mkII aerokit that I never mounter for this reason.
I really like both mk1 & 2 aero kits. Add the wing, it'll definitely grow on you.
Phil, if you keep the 996 I'd consider adding your kit also. I think it would look badass.
I'm considering a gt2 wing... Heck it's all reversible.
Thanks Pete. I believe they are 18" Sport Classic II. They were on the car when I got it this January. I love them but the have some rash and pitting. I'm struggling with refurbishing or replacing with new. I do love the look. They seem to be matched often with aero kits.
I would refurb man. They are too nice to chuck em, and the really suit the polar silver. You could even get them darkened a little during powder coating, like a titanium grey or something..would look well cool
Wayne, here are before and after pictures of mine. I had the aerokit sitting on my garage shelf for a couple years, before I could justify spending the money to have it painted (all of my car money has been going into a 3+ year long, old Maserati restoration). I absolutely love the aerokit. I get tons of compliments on the car, now that it has the aerokit installed. Even my 85 year old dad says it transforms the car. That is a great price on the taco tail. I paid about $1,000 shipped for the used aero front bumper and about $600-$700 for the new side skirts (all OEM). Good luck and welcome to modaholics anonymous.
Nice transformation Mark. The Kinesis wheels are also a nice touch. It looks like you were bitten by the mod bug early on ! A lot of performance mods in your signature !
Mark, was there much involved in changing the wing? I have a shot at a very reasonably priced OEM wing, same as your on a boot lid. Would need paint too, but I dont think it comes with a fan. I assume the fan and bootlid on my own can be removed/disconnected easily. But is there much wiring to be done? For exaple the switch and connections for the self deploy pistons are defunt, so did that mean a new connector/cutting wires etc!?
Or is simply bolt, on and plug the old connection up?
P.S your car looks great! Think its made my mind up for me!
996_North, thank you. Both of my 996s were salvaged, burn victims...the first was an engine fire, the current one was a dash fire. I had most of the mods on each of my cars, before they were ever running.
Pete, thanks. The parts for the aero tail are easily swapped from your stock deck lid. The only part that you will need to buy is the wiring kit for the aero decklid. It was about $70 from Sunset and is plug and play...no cutting.
