Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

So this past weekend, I replaced the rotors and pads with oem.
Leading evidence: 'Replace rotors and pads' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check any insulation damage/degradation' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I've successfully used old sensors, even sensors that had made contact with the rotor due to pad wear and triggered the brake wear light, with no problems.

Run each wire checking for any insulation damage/degradation.

Best I can advise is go around the car again and carefully check each sensor to make sure it is secure in its connection to the wiring harness and the wiring is properly routed/secured.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I was getting the service light for brake pad wear for the past 2 months. I took my oem pads off and replaced them with my PAGID oranges...just to make the light go away while I order some replacement street pads. The light did not go away.
I noticed my rotors were pretty shot...
So this past weekend, I replaced the rotors and pads with oem.
The brake wear light still comes on every time I start the car.
I used my durametric, but I could not find any warnings/codes...I chose to clear warning anyway....but the light still comes on.
Could my wear sensor be faulty? If so, how do I figure out which one it is?
Secondly, is there a reset for service warnings that is different than CE codes? i.e., they are reset somewhere else that I didn't see in the Durametric?
Any advice would be appreciated.
PS, enclosed is a pic of my GF who love helping me wrench on my C4S =D
Cheers

The brake wear sensor is actually just an a wire. Once it contacts the rotor and breaks it turns on the light. To turn off the light you need to find which wear sensor (possibly multiple) has worn through and replace those sensors. They're about $15 each if I recall correctly. Many people just zip tie the sensors up away from the brakes to avoid dealing with replacement.

About all I can recall when I've done my brakes is the wear sensor must be connected securely, properly and this can be hard to do as the wear sensor/wiring/connector has suffered from being exposed to the harsh environment where they reside.
I've successfully used old sensors, even sensors that had made contact with the rotor due to pad wear and triggered the brake wear light, with no problems.
Generally though I replace all 4 wear sensors with new ones which helps ensure the sensors do not false alarm.
Best I can advise is go around the car again and carefully check each sensor to make sure it is secure in its connection to the wiring harness and the wiring is properly routed/secured. Run each wire checking for any insulation damage/degradation.
Lastly, are you sure the light can't be on due to say low fluid? This should be covered in the owners manual.
Sincerely,
Macster.
If they are new.
However, once they are "used"... in that they have made the circuit, they have to be replaced.
Good system, once you get how it works of course.
I wish I had a mechanic's helper like that... but then again, peace and quiet in garage (aside from my swearing) is also good.
