Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There seem to be some "regulars" on the list. Admittedly, I am becoming one more increasingly every day. I have sort of gotten to know a couple of you, so...let's make the "Say hi and introduce yourself to the list" thread. Realizing some like to remain anonymous, obviously this is completely optional. However, I don't see the harm in bringing the group together. If you would like to include a picture, that is optional. So here goes (copy and paste this into your post): Hi, my name is __________. Yep...that was from my rookie debut at Sebring in SPEED World Challenge Touring in '03. Started 33rd, finished 25th (tough series!). A buddy just purchased a Cup car, though, so maybe I'm getting closer!

We certainly did, didn't we! (And I remember you as well, Bob.) One of the best things I have done was to upgrade to the Carrera, I am more than pleased with the move.

POST 54Original post

Hi, my name is Kevin. I live in Atlanta, GA. I drive a '99 C2 Cab. I have been on Rennlist only briefly, as I upgraded from a Boxster to my Cab last spring. I used to hang out on a popular board for Boxsters, but the incessant 911 bashing there is almost overwhelming. I work as a home renovation contractor. My hobbies are anything automotive, and I enjoy traveling in my Cab.

I drive a 99 Iris Blue C4 Cab and the other 3 cars in my signature (I have yet to SELL a Porsche). Been on Rennlist for a few years, used to visit some of the Boxster boards many years ago. I am married to a very understanding woman who "understands" (tolerates?) my passion for cars. When I am not serving my country, I work for a patriotic PC company that supports the Troops better than anyone. I enjoy spending time with the Mrs, golfing, and supporting my Boston teams. When in uniform, I am a Signal (Communications) Officer (and former Drill Sergeant) and Commander of a training unit. If you keep your eyes peeled on Parade magaizine in April, you will probably find out a lot more about me. Below are some pics of the cars, as well as a few from Iraq in 2003.

POST 75Original post

Howdy gang, I'm brand new to this forum, although I've been a Rennlister for a little over 3 years. My name is Marc, and, yes, I live in Montreal. I drive a 2005 Audi A4 (daily driver), and just acquired a black 2002 C2 Coupe to replace my poor lost 964 C2 (stolen in early November/04, now probably living in Russia). Only problem is that, with the weather here, I can't drive it for another 6-7 weeks! ARRRGGGGHHHH! I like fast cars, slow blues, and good guitars. Also love to travel, having been to about 40 countries on 6 continents (business and pleasure). Started out at Jim Russell in 1978, raced FF1600s with them in 1979 & 1980, then took a (too) long hiatus until I bought my 964 in December, 2001. Do some PCA DE events at the fabulous (rebuilt) Le Circuit Mont Tremblant whenever possible. I work as an industrial food sales executive. Enjoy your cars, gang! Marc

POST 76Original post

Hey Marc. You'll love the 2002 C2. Looking forward to seeing you at Tremblant this summer.

Hi, Bob here, I live in Toronto and work from here and Accrington U.K. We have a business as engineers in hydraulic tooling for robotic submarines. I am 53 and probably one of the oldest amateur boxers around these parts. We enjoy boating on Georgian Bay cruising up through the north channel islands which makes up most of the summer activities while winter is mainly travel and some skiing.

POST 79Original post

Alon, Not yet and I have to admit I am kinda nervous about bending it or someone else's. I'd like to at least come out and see what happens though. You guys have plans?

POST 80Original post

Go to www.pca.org/ucr for track info if you're a new or potential track driver. Other than the PCA (the safest way to track in the beginning), there are other schools ( www.dexterautosport.com and www.carcontrolschool.com ) for example. Come on, you won't bend it or anyone else's car if you attend some good, controlled and well organized events. Ian Law's program ( www.carcontrolschool.com ) offers great courses from in-class to parking lot and then Shannonville (safe track to drive).

POST 81Original post

Ah, reitirement. Looks pretty good to me alright. Nice going Don, looks like you have done alright with your life. ERIC: God bless you and watch over you. And... thank you for defending our freedom and helping to spread it to a region of the world that has been in dire need of it.

POST 84Original post

Hey Gary, my wife and I were in Italy this past May and did a factory tour along with the museum and track. I have to admit that no matter how much I've always loved Porsches, the hairs on my arm stood on end when I was there. Great picture, great story. Did you buy one of those 360 Modena Pistons at the Ferrari store for something ridiculous like 300 Euros?

POST 85Original post

Alon: The factory store was SUCH a rip off, you're right. I bought my kids the little red Ferrari hats, but that's it. All in all, an amazing place, though. Wouldn't mind being a Ferrari test driver for a few months!

POST 86Original post

Yes, just being around all of the old tools and everything impressed me. I've got some good pictures of the all the workers going on lunch break and heading over to the little restaurant, all wearing red uniforms. It looked like a huge F1 support team. The pride that they fell is so obvious. That whole area is electric. By the way, if you're ever after any of those Ferrari or other F1 related goodies, check out www.collectorstudio.com The owner, Morry, is a friend and neighbour of mine and he has many US customers (he's much better than that store on Park Ave and 49th.).

Marc, Outstanding vehicle that your wife has! It's on my wish list but most likely not until next year, and then one that someone has broken in for me (would LOVE new). Between that and the Porsche SUV, I'm going for that one and I'll be done with the Audi. I picked up on the two Jack Russels (5 & 7)you have and I have two males myself. Very intelligent creatures and a bit naughty at times. Actually, we're the only three dogs in the house, the rest or ladies. Interesting and fun breed, not to mentioned the terrific 996. Gerardo

I have really got alot out of this board and will join soon. This is my first Porsche and I love it. Here's a pic of my car, yes I drove the right one that day! AWD, snow tires, no problem!

POST 99Original post

gonz 911, You're dead right on the JRT. They are more work than both of my kids. We live in the country and they are usually bouncing up and down like yo-yo's trying to get out to chase some squirrels or birds. As far as the Westminster (aka The Tank) I can tell you that it's an outstanding vehicule with only one shortcoming...the NAV system in crap at best, useless in most case. It always picks wrong route and is very users unfriendly. Once the vehicule is moving you can't change any inputs on the system. To top it off, when it's sunny you can't see the screen. I'm interested in your views on Audis....my old Mercs is getting very long in the tooth and might consider a used A4 Quattro as my winter wheels...would you recommend ? Cheers from the great white north. Marc

POST 100Original post

Marc, I had to laugh with the decription of the hounds as yo-yo's because that is so true! My dogs will "bounce" forever if I let them when they either want to go out, or especially if they see a rabbit or squirrel. I do enjoy them a lot, however, from time-to-time they challenge my patience. I do find it difficult to take them both on walks especially when they see another dog, regardless of their size they want to take them on. It's the breed I guess. With respect to the Audi, I have an A4 3.0 Sport 6 speed, and it's a wonderful car. Moreover, the service by Audi is nothing short of terrific with a great service plan. I have a 2002 model and I have no complaints at all other than I wish I had the S4, but who wouldn't. I essentially want an SUV as my second and I am particularly fond of the RR HSE and the only other SUV I would consider is the Porsche brand. I will not, however, be purchasing a new one since I recently restarted by part-time MBA/JD and will be paying for that until completion, thus, a used one will be in order. Good to hear back from you! Gerardo

There are not enough homes for sale in the price range that I want! In Indiana you can get a fantastic house for a relatively small amount of money. We've had a bit of sticker shock. We found one that we liked, and actually made an offer 10 days ago. It was a bank owned property, and the bank still hasn't responded to my offer. It actually makes me angry that they take their own, sweet time to respond. I made an offer on another one today, and hopefully we'll find out soon. I acutally also work for J&J, also selling orthopaedic implants. I have responsibility for our distributor network for the western half (essentially) of the US. Where is your son working?

I work, but found a way to stay on RL at work I am 40 something, married with 2 kids IIRC I am a skinny little ****, when I stand sideways and stick out my tongue I look like a zipper. I enjoy really old women winking at me, Stuffing my house with junk, constant ridicule and being laughed at. I have a Gt2... I think... but its a 99? I know its black (though in the direct sun i get a little confused) remember mud spelled backwards is duM ok I am Ed Sr Prototype Machinist 20 years, work in a one man shop for major company - Laser R&D My wife of 14 years is 100% Chinese, and I speak Cantonese. 2 boys, 11/12 2 dogs - ruining my yard 99'C2 as seen in sig RL is a great place to waste time, but it has worth and knowledge gained. I used to ride bikes a lot, I still have a pretty big fetish for them. We ski and like to be together as a family. I collect things - lots of them.... some of the big ones are HO Scale Slot cars and old Skateboards. Oh, and I have had short (Army short) hair all my life, and now it is really long? ? ? Porsche has changed me (no money for haircuts) Marc's life is pathetic... he spends his time watching me ruin mine
