Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I had this vague memory that Porsche had changed the tint of graphite during the model run, but I could be dreaming.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I finally got to lay eyes on the sport seats I bought, and was a bit disappointed to see that they aren't actually graphite grey. They're a darker, less warm shade of grey. I think you probably wouldn't even notice the difference once they were in the car, but still... Anybody have any idea what colour they might be? I think they started life in a 986, if that helps. Info and perspective welcome. (Sorry, no pics yet. But the difference is subtle enough that they probably wouldn't help anyway).

POST 2Original post

Space Grey is lighter, and I believe that is what is in my '99. I've seen Graphite and it's darker.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yet this is darker. I wonder if it's a Boxster-only colour...

POST 4Original post

This is what I have, quite light and I think it's Space Grey.

POST 5Original post

There were 3 greys that I remember in the 996 line...... FROM LIGHTEST TO DARKEST Graphite (lighter and the most common) Space (darker but almost looks like it has a reddish pink tint to the grey and not very common) Natural (looks almost black and you'd probably think it was black if you didn't know better) If you can post a picture we could figure it out pretty quickly. ps. Nick, your grey looks like graphite, not space.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, Dell. I'll try to get a picture. The new seats are darker than my original graphite, but absolutely nowhere near black. Maybe they're Space... I had this vague memory that Porsche had changed the tint of graphite during the model run, but I could be dreaming.

Nick, the intererior on my '99 911 is space grey and is a bit darker than yours as shown in the picture.

POST 8Original post

You guys are right. I must have Graphite, looked on my options sticker and the code is CG. Thanks for the correction.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

VGM911, you wouldn't by any chance have a pic of your interior, would you?

No picture, but if you live near New Jersey, I'd gladly show it to you.

POST 11Original post

for those of you that are unsure about your interior colour, pull out the base cushion/plastic piece from one of the rear seats, its just held in by velcro and it will usually say in big letters (albeit in german) on the underside what it is. there is usually a factory sticker on the underside of these and it will say on it if its still there in that photo above, that is most definately NOT space gey. space grey is quite dark.

Thanks anyway That would be a long drive! Seats are in. They actually seem to look fine, even in sunlight. For those with grey interiors, the colour is very close to the alcantara headliner grey. Once in, everything in the car seemed to magically match. I'll try to remember to get a picture at the next opportunity. Thanks for the help, guys.
