Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Finished installing the headers and now I've just installed my new recovered steering wheel from Dallas Steering Wheel. I got the extra padding and red stitching and it feels/looks awesome compared to the spindly "girlie" wheel that was on it before. Don at Dallas Steering Wheel did an excellent job. I suspect this is just the beginning .. the slippery slope.. Now I need a center console cover, instrument cluster cap, and shift boot with red stitching to complement the wheel. Should I go for Alcantara or leather boot with the red stitching? I want to replace the shift **** with the Rennline Billet Aluminum ball shift ****. What do you think?

POST 2Original post

personally, i think it's too thick. Also, you lose a lot of steering wheel the thicker the padding.

POST 3Original post

I think it looks great! And it compliments the red stitching in your floor mats well. I didn't know "Dallas Steering Wheel" existed. I will remember that. Nice work.

I think it has enhanced the driving experience. Same thickness as my M3 wheel. I have seen a few post complaining about the spindlyness of the wheel.

POST 6Original post

The red stitching on the wheel looks good! I would go with the leather shifter boot. I am not a big fan of alcantara. For the other leather parts you mentioned, check with Classic 9 Leather Shop, they are a Rennlist Sponsor. Here is a link, with pics. http://www.classic9leathershop.com

Thanks, yes, I had some email correspondence with Bob at classic9. I will get the console and instrument cap from him. He had indicated he was not doing shift boots. I will likely get the shift boot from Dallas Steering Wheel.

POST 9Original post

Big improvement! I even find the optional "thicker" factory piece to be insufficient.

No, Honda does not offer Alcantara in their cars. They are trying to help the species survive. The Alcantarii species is close to being put on the endangeted species list. Since it takes 67 Ancantarii hides to make one roof liner in a 911, Porsche is primarily responsable for the dwindling Alcantarii population. At least Honda cares about our planet and it's eco system!

POST 11Original post

Oh, Tim, you can put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I wouldn't get the farm raised Alcantari....they keep them in the dark so that the hide is soft. It would have to be free range Alcantarri. That kind is PC.
