Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

35 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

She turned 100,000 miles this morning I was going to make it more memorable but there was a cop behind me so she was only doing 45 mph. Anyway, 100,000 miles and only new brake pads, new clutch at 95,000, new water pump at 65,000, and 2 new window regulators. Plus the service that I did, learning from RL and renntech. Thanks to the RL community for helping me to understand her and keep her out of the shop. Happy motoring!!

POST 2Original post

Congrats! I try to pull over and take a picture when my cars turn 100k.

POST 3Original post

you know you have to keep it till 200k now cuz NO ONE else wants it

POST 4Original post

at my rate it will rate another 4 years to get there. congrats.

POST 5Original post

Fantastic achievement and not a lot of maintainance for 100k miles. Too bad a cop was so close.

POST 6Original post

I always had a mental issue when my cars hit 100K. Becasue in the USA it has been pounded into our heads that at 100K miles is such a bad thing..... However my 928 has 180K and the 996 has 105K.... Now you can just continue to enjoy it and not even care what the odometer says anymore.

When I had my 944 it had 150k miles and still looked and performed better than vehicles half it's age with much less mileage. It's all about maintenance and actually caring for a vehicle. The mileage means nothing if it is not abused. Look at how awful some rental cars look after just 10k miles! I'm at about 84k on my 996, so 100k is not too far away for me either!

POST 10Original post

I agree! if I get another p-car it will be in addition to the 996, not a replacement. its just too good of a car, too drivable, too good as a DD and too fun at the track... anything else would be a weekend "sun toy" like an 80's Carerra or Targa - hey Marc, you are pretty smart

POST 11Original post

congrats!..... pretty girl with a lot of mileage!

POST 12Original post

With only 33k mi on my P-car, it's going to be awhile before I hit 100k...lots of smiles and grins coming up to get there - way to go on reaching that first milestone.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No one want to know what kind of oil I use?

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 7378635

Yes yes, do tell!!!

POST 16Original post

AND your RMS, IMS, PMS, DVD, NAV, RCH (that's one of those acronym things) and last but not least *** didn't break! WooHoo WooHoo WooHoo Cool beans is all I gotta say. I'm pushing 77K and 100 is right around the corner.

POST 17Original post

Congrats Pat! Here is my thread when I crossed 100k in '07. I call BS on myself with the amount of oil burned....... https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=44749

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know I shouldn't do this...Mobile 1 0w40. Tippy, I wanted to get that pic. 99,999 was a long mile. I'll post again at 200,000

Ed, I think that applys only to your car, primarily because YOU own it!

POST 24Original post

Hey now At the track, without exception, my car gets lots of people ooowing and aweing! Until they meet the driver

Well, to be quite honest, you are one step ahead of me. When they see me pull up on my Honda, they chuckle and giggle. When they see me get out of the car, they start rolling on the ground and holding their sides because it hurts so much to laugh that hard!

POST 26Original post

None of you have seen the latest service bulletin?? The newest factory-approved oil is -5W40 Thinner than water & can double as washer fluid too.

POST 27Original post

My condolences on the 100K mark. You're just that much closer to trouble (don't know what kind, I just know it going to happen!)

I could not agree more. I have 111k miles on my 2001 Jetta. People are shocked when they learn that it is almost 10 years old and over 100k miles. If you treat the car with care (cosmetic and mechanical), it will pay you back over time. I would not be looking for a replacement of my Jetta, except for the fact that we have grown our family and need something a bit bigger. The next owner will get a great car.

POST 32Original post

75 k and piling up fast as DD and long track days. i look forward to a celebration at 100k surfer161

POST 33Original post

61k...1month of owner ship, 1k miles, 1 coolant bottle, 6 sparkplugs...10qts Mobil 1....and tons of smiles....and new wheels and a set of H&Rs in garage..... Congrats on breaking the cherry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

POST 34Original post

It's not even broken in yet! My 86 Carreras has 255k miles and drives like new and now has a turbo!

POST 35Original post

Nice job...I crossed 100k last year. Same choice in oil, no major issues so far. It's a 2001 and people have asked me if it's the new model. Enjoy the next 100k...
