Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

As these cars are nearing the cost of the car for a simple engine, something is going to have to give to make replacement much cheaper or there are going to be a lot of non running cars out there within 5 years.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I don't know if this has been posted before... I did a search, and if it has, it's been a while. Anyhow, I came across this fellow who rebuilt his Boxster S engine in his garage (cylinder head crack) and did a good job documenting the process: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=glenn986s#g/u You guys might might find it interesting, as I was thoroughly entertained.

POST 2Original post

As these cars are nearing the cost of the car for a simple engine, something is going to have to give to make replacement much cheaper or there are going to be a lot of non running cars out there within 5 years. So videos like these will give some people an outlet who are unwilling to lay out $12-16 thousand to Porsche or an independent on a car worth the same.

POST 3Original post

Really excellent vids & fascinating to watch, but I guess I'm too old to appreciate the music overdubs - stresses me out! The guy looks to be pretty talented at fabricating his own custom install tools which appears to be key to a proper home job.

POST 4Original post

Great videos! Thanks for posting! I don't care for the music too much either...........Would've been better without. In either case, very interesting videos!

POST 5Original post

I am filming a complete step by step video series on engine assembly in June for the M96 engine... The videos on youtube have helped many people during engine assembly thus far, they are very informative.

POST 7Original post

awesome.... but way beyond my skill. I'll do a clutch on my own though.... vids of that would be priceless.
