Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No, I didn't buy another Porsche - at least not yet . But hey guys - I just put down a deposit on an '08 BMW 328xi coupe 6MT with every conceivable option, plus 6MT. Car's for my kid in grad school. It's dark metallic blue (Monaco) over gray - nice car with 20K miles. Got it at a reasonable price from a BMW dealer with CPO and 2 years left on factory warrantee. Dealer says car is 'flawless' - new tires, etc. The carfax says it was a "manufacturer's car' bought at auction by the dealer. Any issue or problem with that? I'm assuming not a demo - what do you think? Thanks!!! I'm not posting this on the BMW board because I trust you guys more without question.

POST 2Original post

Lease return ussually....BMW frequently takes leased vehicles and auctions them back to dealers.

dont even know what to say about that

POST 4Original post

If "manufacturer's car" meas "press car" than it had the crap beaten out of it

Oh jezus, Phil has either gone senile or totally f*cking nuts!!!!! OK, like Fty stated above ^ it's probably a BMW lease return that the dealer picked up. Sounds like a nice car and with 20K miles on it, it probably doesn't have a sulfated battery!

POST 6Original post

Phil, it would be a lot less money to get a car without a motor... since you wont drive it anyhow

POST 7Original post

Or it's probably a company car for BMW employees... BMWNA is in NJ... ///Michael

Yes, my office is 2 minutes from there, MBNA is right there as well. Tons of company BMW's and MB's running around.

POST 9Original post

Phil, you sound like a great Dad. Grad school is difficult enough, without having to worry about car problems. I bet your kid will love it. My son and I just got his 944 (first car) running Thursday. It was more exciting than if it had been my own.
